It didn’t take long to pack. Karlie mainly borrowed her clothes, and of course Taylor promised a shopping spree to get her new things after they settled into their hotel. She wants Karlie to make new memories, not be constantly reminded of old.

But getting to the airport is no easy feat in New York, especially considering their attention from the media. So she has one of her bodyguards drive them to their private jet. Karlie had originally opposed the private jet, but she insisted. She thinks it will be better if their not surrounded by hundreds of people, rather it’s just the two of them.

Now they sit in the back of the black truck with blacked out windows. Karlie almost looks happy, but there’s still the tension between her shoulders that makes Taylor worry.

“Are you excited?” she asks, her fingers nervously drumming on her leg.

“Yeah, actually,” there’s a small smile on Karlie’s lips. “I haven’t been to Paris in a while, it’s been even longer since I wasn’t there for work.”

“Well now we get to enjoy it for three weeks!”

Karlie, again, had originally objected to the amount of time Taylor planned out for their vacation. But her tour wasn’t for several months and they already had the setlist and performances planned out. The label doesn’t need her for the next three weeks, and she intends to spend as much time with Karlie as she can before she goes on tour.

“I remember my first fashion show in Paris.”

“What was it like?”

“Nerve wrecking,” Karlie lets out a little laugh, the first laugh Taylor’s heard for two weeks. “I was so nervous I thought I was going to fall on the runway.”

“But you didn’t.”

“No, thankfully I didn’t.”

“What’s your favorite show to do?”

“Oh, definitely the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.”

“Why?”

“Well, for one they have the most amazing ensembles, and two…”

“And two what?”

“I met you there.”

There’s a warmth in her chest now knowing Karlie values the moment they met as much as she does.

“And we did it twice.”

“Yes we did.”

“Was the first or second time better.”

“Oh definitely the second time.”

“Why?”

“We walked up the runway together, duh.”

“Hand in hand if I remember right.”

“Those are my two favorite shows for Victoria’s Secret that I’ve done.”

“You’re gonna be in it next year, right?”

“Yeah. Unless something happens to where I can’t.”

Airport security keeps the paparazzi away from the plane, thankfully, and they board without issue. No doubt the tabloids will be all over their vacation while they’re gone, but Taylor isn’t worried. Actually, she’s very excited.

She hasn’t told Karlie what hotel they’re staying in. It’s a surprise.

“How long’s the flight?”

“About eight hours,” Taylor says, looking over at Karlie as she flops on the couch in the jet. And the fact that this jet even has a couch? Amazing. Not to mention it has enough room for her legs.
