He sneaked silently through the halls, moving like a slithering serpent. "She will be surprised by what I'm going to do," he wickedly whispered to himself. He slowly placed himself against his lovers' door, his heart pounding from excitement; he slowly opened the door while peeking inside. "Vanessa-Chan! Are y... you...." He stopped from his quote blushing heavily by what he saw. A flash of black cloths going up, while releasing the sight of warm tanned skin "Lawliet-Kun!!! What are you doing here!?!" Vanessa quickly grabbed her shirt trying to cover herself up. "I'm sorry Vanessa I was just trying to surprise you that's all!!" L blushed heavenly trying to not look at Vanessa. "Well don't do that again, I know that were together and all, but jeez" she slowly changed into her black and red striped sleeve shirt.
L memorized the day they got together, when he and Vanessa were slowly kissing during the arrival of the "Cherry blossom contest". Oh how he loved that day. "I know it was two weeks ago, but you sort of need to get used to surprises when I'm around," L winked at Vanessa slowly placing his arms around her waist. "Why is that Lawliet-Kun?" she wrapped her arms around his neck. "Because L is very full of interesting surprises," he whispered softly pressing her against him. "Very interesting" she slightly giggled while pressing her lips against his. He moved his lips passionately, while she slid her hands through his hair. They tore their lips apart, feeling each other's warm breaths "Vanessa-Chan. Is it okay if I invite a friend over for dinner?" he smiled softly. "Do I know this friend?" she furrowed her brow slightly "Well friends actually, and no you haven't met them yet," L chuckled silently. "Well its fine as long its nothing else," Vanessa kissed his forehead. L slowly slipped away from Vanessa's arms, and headed towards the door "Well I shall pick them up while you make dinner," L cheerfully smiled. Vanessa shot him a happily annoyed glare "Okay, okay I'm on way," L quickly left the room. Vanessa stayed standing in the same spot thinking "I hope nothing happens throughout the night". Hours passed by rapidly; Vanessa was almost done setting up the table, until she heard a faint yell "Vanessa-Chan I'm back."She walked towards the entrance while holding her hands together nervously. "Vanessa-Chan these are our guests Light Yagami, and Jake Satomi," L flashed a hand before his guests "So this is your lover, well nice to finally meet you" Light slightly bowed. Light was not tall, nor short, he was slightly muscular, with brunette hair, and fiery ruby colored eyes. "So you're Light. Misa always talks about you" Vanessa chuckled "Yea except its sort of annoying when she sees me every day" Light smiled. Jake smiled greatly, since it was the only thing you can see from his shadowed curtains of black hair. "Your awfully quiet," Vanessa suspiciously gazed at Jake, "Okay why don't we have dinner," L rapidly shoved his guests to the dining room. "So how did you know L?" Vanessa took a sip from her bottle of Ramune "Well I became friends with L at the Tokyo police department where we work at. Even thou L is Japans greatest detective, then I soon introduced Jake to L," Light plopped a spoonful curry into his mouth, Jake was messing with his plate, moving his spoon around his food. "So how did you two become lovers?" Light softly folded his hands placing his head on top, while flashing fluttering eyes. L and Vanessa blushed, while starring away from each other "Well I met L when I was trying to run away from this guy named...." "Jack," everyone looked up at the silent, hidden guest "Yeah jack, how did you know Jake?" Vanessa slowly grew anxious "Lucky guess I suppose" Jake flashed a huge smile "Well Jack wanted to be with me, but every time I refused he kept wanting me more. Well that night, he went past his limit and I....." "You kicked him in the ribs leaving him screaming painfully," Jake spoke harsh. Vanessa then grew nervous, something about Jake just made her shiver; Have she met him before? And how did he know about Jack? "Vanessa-Chan you okay? You look pale" L leaned towards Vanessa holding her shoulder, "Yeah, I'm okay just light headed" she slightly touched her forehead. "You know you're going to have to take care of her for only one more day, you know that L" Light slowly took a sip from his wine glass. "I know Yagami-Kun," L slouched slightly. "What's going on? L is everything okay?" Vanessa looked at L with watery brown eyes "Vanessa-Chan. Two days from now I'm going to have to go on a trip looking for the Kira." L weakly smiled, "For how long?" Vanessa's voice crackled as she spoke. "Three to four days, my love" L hugged her softly, speaking calmly. Light and Jake looked at each other helplessly "I think we should go," Light scootched in his chair and took Jake by the arm and began walking "Thank you for the dinner, nice meeting you Vanessa" Light smiled weakly. "Good bye Vanessa hope we can meet again soon" Jake flashed a smile while removing the hair in front of his eyes, revealing his mysterious face. Vanessa gasped at what she saw, she soon grew anxious. She knew that face that face, she have seen Jake somewhere before, but where??As L closed the door behind them he slowly walked towards Vanessa, who was in her room sitting down on the bed. "Beloved. What's wrong?" L sat in front of her with a worried look on his face. Vanessa sat still with warm, soaking eyes trembling with fear "L, its Jake" "What's wrong with him?" L looked puzzled. Vanessa then hugged L, while tears flowed from her eyes "How did he know a lot about what happened to me with Jack? Is he Jack? " L fell on to his back "I...I don't know Vanessa-Chan. But he can't be jack you haven't seen him in almost six months." "But what if he is? He's going to try and get me for himself again!!" she hugged him tight "He can't be and he won't, my love" L patted her back softly "I'm confused deeply,"Vanessa trembled softly. L faced Vanessa's face towards his "Please don't be sad. My dearest lover, please don't cry. L will do whatever it takes to protect you from anyone and anything" L's eyes began to slowly swell in tears, Vanessa softly gazed at L she have never seen him cry before especially not in front of her. She smiled weakly and leaned closer to L's face "Okay L-Chan...." He pushed his face against hers making their lips hug, he sighed happily. He was going to miss this when he's gone; the kissing, the hugging, and the sugary sweets she made for him, he was going to miss everything. But the one thing that he was going to miss the most was Vanessa. Ever since the day he spoken to her, even the day when he accidently kissed her, he knew that they would always be together but now he would have to be away from that world just to find the Kira. They pulled apart from each other letting out a small sigh "Is Lawliet-kun going to miss Vanessa-Chan??" she slowly looked up towards him "Yes. He's going to miss her deeply much. He's going to miss her hugs, her kisses, and her body being pressed his." L began slowly stroking her hair, feeling each strand of hair between his fingers. "I'm going to miss you when you're gone," Vanessa kissed the top of his forehead "Vanessa-Chan..." "Yes L" she weakly smiled as she gazed at him "Promise to wait for me when I'm gone?" L kissed her lips gently "I promise Lawliet-kun" in return she kissed back. After that word, that last spoken word a tear slipped away from L's eye which holds the feelings he will soon feel once he leaves the very next day.
