Riley:
I wasn't in the mood to deal with people or school but I couldn't get out of it. My mom instead that I came saying that she didn't want me to "fall into the same behavior" as last year. Needless to say I strongly considered skipping for the day. I walk to my locker in a slow pace not wanting to get to first hour early. "Riley!" Susan yells my name running towards me. She earns a few dirty looks from people she bumped into in the process. "Hi," She grins at me. "Hello." I smile back at her. "So, what are you doing for spring break?" She asks. Shit, I forgot about Brad. What was I going to tell my parents? "I'm not sure." I lie. "You?" I ask. "Cody, Daniel and I are going to Silverstein to stay at Cody's cousin's loft." Susan states. "Wait you're going to Silverstein?" I ask. Susan nods. "Okay, so I may have lied when you asked me where I was doing for Spring break." I say. Susan gives me a questioning look. "I really need to go to Silverstein but I can't because my mom won't let me go alone. So I was hoping you would cover for me and say that I'm going there with you." I explain. Susan stares at me surprised for a moment. "But wait, what are you going to do then?" She asks. "I'm meeting my- Brad. He's an old friend. He wants to hang out but my mom isn't very fond of him." I say quietly. Susan nods thoughtfully. "Alright, we'll cover for you only if you hang out with us for a day." Susan bargained. I smile, "You have yourself a deal." I agree. Drop my bag off at my locker grabbing my cellphone.
Me: So I'll be seeing you in Silverstein. I put my phone in my pocket then head off to class with Susan. "We need to throughly plan this out because of my mom." I announce. Susan gives me a questioning look. "Why can't you just tell your mom?" Susan asks. Because she's over dramatic and protective. Oh besides that she thinks I'm off on the "wrong" path again. Susan gives me another glance as we walk into Mr. Fitz room. "Ladies, how is that presentation coming?" He asks. Susan looks over at me hopeful. "I finished the essay yesterday so we should be able to present." I inform both of them. Mr. Fitz smiles checking our name off of the chart. "It will have to be over spring break." He said. Susan and I take our seats in the back of the class expect she sits across from me. "Have you asked your mom?" She said. I shook my head. "No, I was kind of hoping that you would-" I get distracted as Grayson walks into the room with Clarissa under his arm. The nerve of that boy. I can't believe him. Why do you care? It's not like you love him or like him. You just feel some sort of attraction towards him. I avert my gaze back to Susan before either of them notice I was gawking at him. "Then come with me to my house to talk to her." I finish. Susan nods, "Alright but she does realize the boys are coming right?" Susan asks. Before I get the chance to answer I was cut off by Cody. "Boys are coming where?" He asks taking a seat beside me. Daniel sits down beside Susan. "Riley here is coming with us to Silverstein." Susan informed them. "No way. Shut up." The boys said together. I press my lips in a thin line. A few more students filed in before the bell rang. "Alright, kiddos." Mr. Fitz speaks ups. It takes a few moments before everyone quiets down. "Since today is the last day before spring break, I was thinking it could just be an easy day." He announced grabbing a stack of movies. "So let's vote shall we?" He asks. I didn't really care for the options of movies he had so I didn't vote for any. By a handful of ten people we ended up watching Legally Blonde. I don't even know to be honest. Mr Fitz puts in the movie then tells one of the kids to turn off the lights. A few minutes after the movie started Susan turned around and looked at me. "Alright, so here is the plan." Susan half whispered. I glanced around to make sure no one was listening. It didn't seem like they were. "All four of us go and talk to your parents into letting you go with us to Cody's cousins loft. We can tell her that us girls are sleeping in one room and the boys in the other." Susan said. "Cody's cousin is gonna be there." She looks him to make sure. Cody nods. "So we can say that he will watch us. He's like twenty four or something. If she asks what we are gonna do we can say go to museums, art shows and explore town." I nod. It sounds like a good plan so far. "Which we are gonna do by the way." Susan adds. Which causes the boys to groan. She rolls her eyes at them but looks back at me. "You can pick the day you wanna stay with us and that means from 12 to 12." Susan points her finger at me and narrows her eyes. I hold my hands up in surrender as if agreeing with her. She smiles slightly. "After that you can just spend the rest of spring break with Brad." Susan said. "Who's Brad?" Cody asks loudly. Which earned us a few shhhs. "He's an old friend." I tell him. "And you're going to hang out with him?" Cody asks again. Daniel must have kick Cody under the table because he grumbles under his breath giving him a dirty look. "But what if my mom wants to call and you're not there with me?" I ask. Susan sat back in her chair stumped. We sat in silence for a moment and I thought we were done talking. "Oh three way call. Just call me before you call her and that way if she wants to talk to Susan or any of us we will know." Daniel spoke up. Susan looks over at him with a complete look of admiration. "Okay, so we have it all planned out." Susan says. We all nod in agreement. She turns around in her seat watching the movie again. Cody nudges my side. I look over at him. "There's a party tonight if you wanna come." He invites me. "Who's all going?" I whisper. "Almost everyone. Susan and Daniel are going. We can go after we talk to your mom if you like." He offers. I ponder on it for a moment. I didn't have anything else to do. To hell with it. "Sure, sounds like a plan." I agree. He smiles at me before turning back to the movie. It seems like forever until the bell rings. When it does I gather my things and stand up. "Who's party is it?" I ask Cody. He walks beside me as we head out of the class room. "Riley, can I talk to you?" Grayson asks. I glare at him. "Can't it wait?" I ask impatiently. "No, it's okay. I'll see later." Cody said kissing the side of my head walking away. Grayson glared at him then looked back at me. "So what do you want?" I ask pivoting on my heel heading to my next class. "Please tell me you're not going to see Brad." Grayson pleaded. I stop dead in my tracks looking up at him. "I should have know you were listening." I said. "Why are you going?" He asks. "I don't see how that's any of your concern." I snap walking away from me. "Well you can't go." He calls after me. I stop again facing him. He takes this opportunity to walk towards me. I glance around to notice a few people staring. "You're not going." He repeated. "What are you mother hen?" I sneer. "In case you didn't notice I don't need your permission." He narrows his eyes looking at me. "Then I'll just inform your parents of your little plan."
"You won't do that."
"What makes you so sure?" He asks. I step forward. "If you do I'm never ever going to forgive you. Just remember that. Besides I'm not low enough to tell people about your secret. Remember that too." I remark angrily. I glare at him once more before walking away. "Riley!" He calls after me but I don't turn around and luckily he doesn't follow me.
