Xavier:

Julie and I got married the day before Christmas. We both were twenty-two fresh out of college. I can remember her chocolate curly hair flowing down behind her white gown as she walked towards me that day. I remember looking at her just holding my breath because this woman right there could not be crazy enough to spend the rest of her life with me. Her smile, her laugher, her eyes, everything about her drove me crazy. I loved her to the point I would do anything just to see that beautiful face every day.

Now two years later that beautiful face stares backs at me but not as it once did before.

Julie and I met during my freshman year of college; we were both 18 new to the world around us. I remember seeing her in the library trying to reach some book and she ended up falling trying to grab it. Being the amazing guy, I am I did what any gentleman would do okay maybe Im not that amazing but, the point is I remember helping her up off the ground and I swear those eyes, so vivid and real they pulled me in from the very start. She got off the ground allowing me to help pull her up.

Thank you, she smiled, dusting off her jeans.

Im Xavier, I smiled back. Standing there in the library who knew what would come next.

After that Julie and I found out we had the same ECON class and decided to make a study plan every Friday at the library. Every week we come in with two coffees and a bag of snacks we hid from the librarian like middle schoolers and did our work. Well, Julie did her work I mostly slacked off which then she would remind me we have a purpose.

Julie:

I could feel his eyes staring at me, looking up I gave him a slight smile.

Julie? he asked.

Yes?

He looked pale oh no was he going to throw up? I hope not that would be quite the scene in a library. Taking his hand across the table I gave him a concerned look.

Xavier, whats wrong? You look sick he took his hand and rub it over my knuckles slightly. Loving the way his touch felt I took a deep breath trying to ignore the slight butterflies in my stomach.

Taking my hand away slightly I looked at him once more. Xav- before I was cut off Willyougooutwithme he breathed.

Looking at him in shock I tried to comprehend the words that were said from his mouth.

He laughed slightly and looked up at me with so much conviction in his eyes.

Julie he breathed. Will you go out with me? he asked this time much slower. Leaving an open space of silence between us.

He took his hand and pushed his hair back taking his hand in mine, I touched his cheek slightly giving him a smile.

Took you long enough I said giving him a slight wink. He chuckled and moved my hand away from his face looking at me with something Ive never seen before.

He took a curl from my hair twirling it around his finger.

So, is that a yes? he looked hopeful. How could I say no to that he looked so adorable.

Its a yes I smiled back at him and that smile he gave me was worth everything.

It wasnt the sly smirk he gives me when he would tease me or the shy smile, he give from me catching him looking at me while studying, no this one was a 1000 watt smile that Im sure I would have imprinted for the rest of my life in my head.
