Short Story - A Keaton Story

Jasmine’s POV:

It is thanksgiving break and I have not been in school for three days. I honestly missing going to school because I enjoy seeing my crush in three out of my six classes. His name is Keaton. He plays in a band with his brother and friends. They want to try out for xFactor and I think they should do it because they are amazing. But then again other girls will start to fall for him and he will forget about me. I talk to him everyday he sometimes walks with me to our classes. He would usually sometimes leave to talk to his friends but the past couple of weeks he hasn’t. I do have his number but never texted him. I am just a chicken I have liked him for so long but I am just afraid he would never feel the same way back.

So not seeing Keaton on a daily basis makes me miss school.

“We are here.” said my bestfriend James.

Me and James were at the carnival that it only in town for two weeks before and during thanksgiving. It is really nice it is a town thing. I enjoy it. James is friends with Keaton and talks to him way more than me. Obviously James knows how much I like Keaton but he swore he would never tell him.

I asked James to find out if Keaton like me and to tell him and he said it was bro code. But obviously he never asked because he can never keep a secret from me for more than 24 hours. But it is the same with me so it is understandable. Who can blame him?

We have been at the carnival for more than an hour and I really wanted to go on the ferris wheel it was my favorite. I would always ride no matter what. When James and I were walking to the ferris wheel.

James goes “Hey Jasmine” I look up at him instead of in front of myself where I was walking he think smirks and lightly pushes me. I then bump into someone.

“I am so sorry.” I said right away. Ugh James is a jerk! But I still love him.

“It’s okay don’t even worry about it” the voice said.

I looked up and see no other than Keaton and right away my heart got all jumpy.

“Jasmine? Hey it is so nice to see you. I was thinking about you today to” he said while smiling. Keaton. Keaton was thinking about me!

“No way!” I said smiling back.

“Hate to ruin the conversation would you guys want to join Jasmine and I on the ferris wheel?” James asked looking at Keaton and his other two friend Darrell and Kyle.

Darrell and Kyle looked at each other and grinned and nodded in agreement to James and he just smirked in reply.

“Yeah, sure why not?” said Keaton.

I need to thank James afterwards for letting us hang with the Keaton and his friends which is also his friends but still.

“Hey I need to go to the bathroom” Kyle said by the time we reached the front of the line of the ferris wheel. “You four can go without me” he said and glanced at James who lightly nodded his head.

“I want to ride with Darrell so Keaton and Jasmine you to are partners go first.” James said.

Me and Keaton looked at each other a shoulder shrugged.

“Sounds good to me” Keaton said so calmly. Me on the other hand am not calm at all. I look at James and he gives me wink. Good god how I love my bestfriend.

When Keaton and I go onto the ferris wheel I noticed that Darrell and James were walking away. They ditched us leaving us alone. Oh my god. James you are so lucky I love you or you would be dead meat.

“So remember how I told you my band and I are trying out for xFactor?” asked Keaton.

“Yeah, how could I forget.” I said he looked at me and smiled.

“Well I got good news about it” he said happily.

“Spill it Keats!” I said equal happily.

“Well we got in! And we are leaving Friday 2 weeks before the show starts so we can use to the vibe. So I won’t be at school anymore” he said happily then kinda sad at the end.

My heart was happy that he would be happy doing what he loves. But the other side was heartbroken knowing he will forget me and not even have one percent chance of hope of him liking me back once girls start to throw themselves at him. Not as if girls don’t do it now.  

“Oh my gosh Keaton that is great! Living your dream with your boys and brother and girls will be dying to be with you. Make sure you don’t choose a random one” I nudged him.

“I don’t think girls would be a problem.” he said kinda serious while spacing out in the sky while the ferris wheel was making frequent stops loading and unloading people for it to actually begin.

What does he even mean by that?

“What do you mean?” I asked with curiosity obvious in my voice.

“It is hard to explain” he said with a frustrated sigh.

I decided to change the subject and we started talking about how excited he is but how homesick he will get. He even told me he would want to face time at least twice a week. Him telling me that made me so happy.

Once we got off the ferris wheel of course James, Darrell and Kyle were nowhere to be found. I am sure they planned this.

I started to shiver because it has became dark and it started to get cold. Keaton looked over at me hoping he didn’t notice shiver.

He takes of his jacket and gives it to me.

“Here it’s cold out put this on” he said while handing me his jacket while smiling sweetly.

I opened my mouth to protest but he interrupted before I even could. “I insist. I would feel insulted if you didn’t take it” he said.

“Okay thanks” I said smiling at him. And he put his jacket on me. It smelled like him. It smelled like heaven.

“Jasmine.” Keaton said with a serious tone. While stopping us from walking.

“What’s wrong?” I asked Keaton so confused.

He let out a frustrated sigh while running his hand through his hair. Ugh does he not realize what he is doing to me when he does that?

“Okay Jasmine, I..I like you..I have liked you for a while. But I was always nervous to tell you. And now that I know I am leaving on friday to xFactor I know it will makes things harder for me. Not knowing if you feel the same way. So I want to know if you feel the same way” he said really fast then took a big deep breathe.

I was shocked my crush Keaton Stromberg just admitted he liked me.

“Keaton, I like you to and I - “ before I got to finish what I was saying. I was cut off with Keatons lips onto mine.

Then it dawned to me that my crush was kissing me. When he pulled away he had the biggest smile on his face.

“Then i want to ask you an important question. Will you be my girlfriend?” he said.

“No.” I said he looked shocked.

“Of course I will you goofball!” I said happily while I pulled him into another kiss. And I could feel him smiling while kissing me.

“Finally!” I hear James, Darrell and Kyle shout.

After we pull away from the kiss I just giggle. It felt like a dream. That I was the girlfriend of Keaton Stromberg.
