°°Joey's POV°°

I walked through the front door of my house and tried walking past my mom until she stopped me.

Joey's mom: How was school sweetie?

Joey: Same as usual.

Joey's mom: Sorry.

Joey: It's fine mom.

I continued walking away and went upstairs to my room. I tossed my backpack onto my floor and threw myself back onto my bed.

I survived another long day of school. Which meant I survived another long day of being quiet and keeping to myself, teachers pushing me to do things I couldn't do, and people verbally attacking me for no reason. I was tired of it. So tired.

I let out a large sigh then sat up on the edge of my bed. I reached over to my desk to get my laptop and sat in front of it on my bed. I logged onto Facebook to see that I had a new friend request. I opened it up to see who it was, but I didn't recognize them. It was a boy named Shane Dawson. We didn't have any mutual friends and his profile said that he lived in Long Beach, California which is far away from me since I lived in Boston, Massachusetts. I clicked on his name to get a clearer view of his profile picture. He had reddish brown hair and blue eyes. After looking at his picture for a little while, I went to his "about me" section on his profile. He didn't have a bio written, all I could see was that his birthday was on July 19, 1997, which meant he was my age. That, and that he was interested in men. Me too... Cool.

I finally decided to accept his friend request, mostly because I thought he was pretty cute. But he also seemed like an interesting person to get to know. I thought that I should leave him a message.

Joey: Hey, do I know you?

I saw that he was online. Great. After about a minute he replied.

Shane: No, probably not. Sorry. I just got bored and started adding a bunch of random people. You can delete me if it's a problem.

Joey: No no no, I actually wanted to talk to you.

Shane: Oh, okay! Well, what's up? :)

Joey: Ehh, nothing. Just got home from school a few minutes ago. Wbu?

Shane: Yeah me too. How was your day?

Joey: It was... a day.

Shane: Something happen?

Joey: Nah, just hate it there. Nobody really likes me or pays attention to me.

Shane: Oh dude I'm sorry. I'm kinda the same way. I only have a few close friends but the rest of the school hates me. Don't know why.

Joey: People just suck. I know we just started talking like a couple minutes ago, but I already think you're a pretty cool guy. It's their loss.

Shane: Thanks! You too.

Joey: Thanks man.

Shane: No problemo.

Joey: Well uh, I'm gonna go do my homework. Maybe I'll talk to you later tonight?

Shane: You can count on it.

Joey: Alright, later.

I sent my last message to Shane and he left it on "seen."

He really was a nice guy. I was worried at first when he added me but now I know I have nothing to be afraid of.

°°Shane's POV°°

The Joey kid I was talking to was really nice. At first when he messaged me asking if he knew me, I thought he was creeped out by me. Then it turns out he was a good guy. I enjoyed talking to him.
