The two settled on sitting down on a park bench.

The silence after Rory had said she had grown up was something that was quite disturbing to Jess. Where had her spark gone? He wondered. How long had it been like this? Did Dean or Logan have anything to do with damaging it?
The Rory Jess knew back in high-school was way more laid-back in her comfortable lifestyle of making good grades, wanting to go to Harvard... then Yale, getting into both.
Jess knew he had changed a lot, too. Everyone changes in a way from when they were teenagers.
Rory studied his brown eyes as they were deep in thought over her, which she would never find out that those thoughts were all about Rory.
Rory liked how his hair grew into his old-style again, she could not get over how good he looked and how well he was doing with his life. Rory, even though the campaign she was on was going great, felt like her career and life in general was always in a tailspin.
Rory wondered if there was still a spot in Jess' heart that would always love and cherish Rory like Rory always did for Jess. Rory did acknowledge that the way she treated Jess in the past revolving Dean and Logan was unfair. She cheated on both boyfriends with Jess, but she did regret doing so.
Wasn't the kisses she regretted, it was the way she handled her feelings and handled Jess' feelings very selfishly. Rory knew Jess had no grudges against Rory, but she still held it against herself.
Jess stared into Rory's eyes and she just smiled softly.
"Let's go to the lake." She got up quickly, Jess following matching her fast footsteps perfectly.

Luke and Lorelai sat on the sofa, taking a break from their "food fight" to watch a movie.
"So, Rory and Jess." Luke sighed.
"Jess and Rory." Lorelai sighed with him.
"Do you think that they'd get back together?" Luke said almost excitedly.
"I don't know, won't they be related once we certify our love with the thing people call a 'wedding?'" Lorelai smirked.
"Not actually related, though, Lorelai." He scowled.
"You know, there's already incest on my side of the family so might at well add more." She howled laughing, referring to a fact she had found out from her mother a few years prior.
"That explains a lot." Luke laughed.
"Rory made a comment about our eyes being mutated and incest-ish when she found out." Lorelai laughed even harder.
"Oh my God." Luke tried to not laugh but failed miserably. He smiled at his wife-to-be and kissed her softly on her lips.

Jess and Rory sat on the bridge, under the full moon that was brilliantly illuminating the lake. Suddenly, Rory takes off her jacket, sweater, and shoes, then jumps in the lake. Jess laughs, taking off his shirt and his shoes. He waits for Rory to surface from under the water, then he jumps in. The two of them laugh at the spontaneous act as Rory swims closer to Jess splashing water at him. He laughs, his longer pieces of his wet hair covering his face.
"Is this why you wanted to bring me out here? To abuse me with your water splashing abilities?" Jess chuckled as the two moved closer together.
"Why else would I drag you out here?" She laughed.
Rory leaned in and kissed Jess as smiles grew on both of their faces.
