"han-ah, hurry and go get ready! wear the suit and matching tie which I bought for you earlier this year." the lazy boy's mother reminded as she closes her son's door. jisung groaned, pulling himself out of his large, king sized bed which could definitely fit at least three people.
he opened his closet as he pulled out what looks like the suit his mother bought for him as he lazily threw it onto his body, tying his tie loosely after. he really hated royal stuff, he wanted to get out and explore the world, go on vacation trips and hang out with some friends. however, he had to be stuck inside the palace unless he had to meet someone of another kingdom. he hated meeting princesses but unfortunately his mother dragged him with her. he despised meeting them as his mother would always try to arrange a marriage.
jisung was young, he hadn't thought about marriage yet, he was only twenty. "can't i just stay my ass home, its so much better here than being forced to talk to some random princesses who drool over me" jisung complained, sighing harshly afterwards, startling some of the maids who were serving him. oh how much he wanted to leave the royal and boring life.
"your highness, the limousine is here to pick you up." the maid says as she bows politely.
jisung quickly went to the front gate where both of his parents were seated in the car, waiting for him.
"mother, father i have arrived" jisung bowed, entering the car as he sat at the back staring mindlessly out of the windows.
he watched how the huge palace disappears as he was driven further and further away. his gaze fixed on the trees they passed, he was deep into thought. he had always wondered what if he wasn't born into the royal palace where everything was strict. the way people bow, the way they talk and the words they used. one wrong word would cause them to be beaten up and sent home immediately. however jisung doesn't care about the strict manners. whenever one of his servants were to mess up a word or accidently spill water, he would smile and mouth an "its fine" which ceased the plain horror in their eyes as they thanked him repeatedly.
"han-ah, we are here" his mother tapped her son lightly to wake him up.
jisung shifted uncomfortably, he already knew he was probably going to be introduced to some princess. with a sigh, he got out of the car as he looked around him. he hadn't been there before. his parents walked in as servants standing at the sides bowed, welcoming them politely. jisung followed behind them until they stopped in front of the dining room. they wasted no time into entering as a long table with countless plates of food came into view, he couldn't lie he was a little hungry.
" your majesty, everyone has arrived, the dinner will begin soon" a servant whispered into his father's ear. "good".
upon taking their seats, a girl with long brown hair caught his attention. she was pretty and looked like a nice person but jisung wasn't the slightest interested. he assumed he would be offered to marry her, however, little did he know it wasn't an offer anymore.
"the dinner shall begin now" a male, who looked like the princess's father announced as everyone started eating.
jisung didn't touch his food one bit, he was feeling sick, as if he wanted to throw up and go home. he didn't even think of the kingdom as his home, more like a place he was stuck in.
"han-ah why aren't you eating? are you not hungry?" his mother asked, concerned. "no, i'm alright, just not in the mood to eat" jisung replied with a blank expression.
a long silence filled the air as only the clicking of utensils could be heard. jisung was dying on the inside, his back was hurting from sitting up straight and he felt overly uncomfortable. he wanted them to go straight to the point, why were they there in the first place? he was sure it wasn't only for dinner.
"your highnesses and majesties, i will now make an announcement" one of the higher ranks announced clearly, causing everyone to turn to him. " i am pleased to announce a new marriage between the two kingdoms." jisung sighed, praying it wasn't him. they would offer him first, not straight up force him into marriage right?
wrong.
" congratulations, princess yooa and prince jisung. the wedding will be held in the next two weeks.".
