chapter six - ballad, pt. 2
Erin's POV
I stared down at the text from Finn in awe.
Finn: Quinn's parents kicked her out
I quickly slipped on my shoes and ran out the door and over to Finn's house. I franticly knock at the front door and am met with Mrs. Hudson's tired eyes. She gives me a small smile and opens the door to invite me in.
"They're upstairs," she sighs. "Thank you for being there for him, Erin." I head up the stairs and into Finn's room to find Quinn in his arms crying. I run over and gather her into a hug as she lets out a quiet sob into my shoulder. I glance up at Finn to see him giving me a small smile before mouthing the words "thank you". I pull away and grab a tissue to hand to Quinn. We sit in silence for a minute as she calms her breathing.
"Do you need somewhere to stay?" I ask her.
"No, it's okay," Finn replies. "My mom said she could stay here."
"I'm so sorry," I frown.
"It's okay. I knew they were going to freak out, but I didn't think they'd go that far, you know?," she sighs, wiping her cheek with the tissue. "Wait, so how was your night with Puckerman?" She asks, pulling herself together and bringing her attention to me.
"You were with Puck?" Finn frowns at me, and I roll my eyes at him.
"Yes, we were just working on the ballad assignment," I groan defensively. "Guys, I didn't come here to talk about Puck. I came to make sure you were okay."
"Please, Erin," Quinn sighs. "I really just need to think about something else right now," she swallows. I sigh and give an understanding nod.
"He made me dinner and sang me 'Something' by The Beatles," I muffle down a grin, as Quinn's eyes widen and a grin creeps across her face, making Finn roll his eyes.
"What did you say?" Finn raises his eyebrows at me.
"Don't worry, dad. I turned him down," I roll my eyes at him.
"What? Why?" Quinn furrows her eyebrows at me.
"Because he's a douche," Finn answers for me.
"Finn, stop," Quinn frowns at him. "You know Puck. Have you ever seen him pull out the stops like this?"
"Yes," Finn scoffs. "Literally last week with Rachel."
"He couldn't even make eye contact while he was singing to her because he was too busy staring at Erin," Quinn argues.
"Guys," I interrupt them and let out a nervous laugh as they both turn their attention to me again. "I like Noah," I sigh, as Finn furrows his eyebrows at me. "But I'm also not stupid. I know he's just like this with girls, and I don't want to ruin our friendship."
"He's not 'like this with girls', Erin," Quinn frowns. "Puck doesn't cook for people. He didn't even know we had a home ec. room."
"Do you actually like him?" Finn asks. I blush and give him a small nod.
"I want to give in to him so badly, but I know he's a fucking heartbreaker," I groan, resting my head in my hands.
"He does seem different with you," Finn sighs in defeat, and I furrow my eyebrows at him in confusion.
"Whose side are you on?" I laugh.
"Deep down- like really deep down, Puck's a good guy," Finn shrugs. "If anyone could bring that out of him, it'd be you."
