"Honey, you are behind schedule again!" Severus's voice echoed throughout the halls of their home awakening Honey with a start. She sat up from her bed in a wild panic.
"Why am I always sleeping in!?" She scolded herself and she pulled out a soft red t-shirt and a pair of jeans.
"I'll be out in just a second!" She yelled to her father while trying to hop into her jeans. she had almost gotten one leg in when she slipped, falling backwards. She hit the ground hard but she continued to fight her Jean's on before standing up. Honey threw on her shirt and grabbed her wand using a quick taming spell on her mop of hair before shoving a pair of socks on her feet. She tied her shoes as she walked from her room, her wand in her mouth. It had only been a week since her birthday, but she was definitely behind on her school shopping, and she wasn't going to miss her chance to go back to Diagon Alley. She stood up as soon as her shoes were tied.
"Ready!" She called looking up to her father completely out of breath and full of excitement.
"Ome minute and thirty-seven seconds, a new record," Severus said slamming a small pocket watch closed, placing it back into his pocket.
"The time limit is just about up," Severus said pushing her towards the fireplace. He pulled the bag of powder off the mantel and holding it out for her to grab a handful.
"Quickly, quickly we have exactly fifty seconds for us to get there before our floo network is locked," Severus said grabbing his own handful of powder.
Honey smilled nervously.
"Stay put and don't talk to anyone." She says joking to the man. He shot her backs quizzical look causing g her to giggle slightly.
"Diagon alley!" She yelled letting the powder fall to her feet. Severus barely had time to let her fully leave the fireplace before he stepped in.
"Diagon alley." He repeated quickly in his monotone voice before aggressively throwing the powder at his feet. Honey opened her eyes once she heard the sounds of many animals hooting and calling from various places around the room. Honey quickly stepped from the fireplace just barely getting out of the way for her father. Honey looked around the room as her father dusted off her robes.
'This must be the Magical Menagerie' she thought to herself as she spotted a rather angry looking black cat, she laughed to herself a bit before she reached over and tickled the chin of the adorable kitten, which clearly loved her instantly.
"So where to first?" She asked standing up from the grumpy like kitten, Severus looked at the cat, and he swore it looked at him with the same look of disgust. He was caught off guard by the cat, accidentally ignored Honey as he focused on the young creature.
"Kinda reminds me of you!" Honey said loud enough to finally get her father's attention. He looked at her in surprise but quickly hid all emotions. Truth was, he was very drawn to the grumpy creature. Severus found the little kitten rather charming even though the kitten clearly didn't feel the same towards him. The man watched the curious cat quite closely, and of course, the kitten seemed to keep the same emotions as the man within his little feline face. His pricing blue eyes locked on Severus. Severus landed away from the cage and back to his daughter. She smiled at him Knowingly.
"So let's go get-"
"I think we have to buy the cat," honey said completely ignoring and cutting off her father.
"We simply can-" Severus started but once again before he could finish Honey interrupted him.
"We simply can not leave him here!" Honey said while she removed the small cat from its cage. Upon pulling him out of his cage Honey realized his strange appearance, he looked like a cat in most ways, but he had large pointed ears. Honey giggled at this cute oddity.
