CHAPTER - ONE

"Please, Lou! Please!" Niall begged. I roll my eyes at him as I washed the dishes from breakfast. "You'll like him I promise! Liam is so nice and treats me so well!"

"If I agree to this lunch will you get off the floor?" I ask looking down at him in the middle of his tantrum. My three-year-old doesn't even do this.

"I'll get off the floor and you can bring Alice! There's a kids menu!" Niall says excitedly as he flies up from the floor.

"I want to meet him Ni it was just hard during the school year when I have a lot to grade," I reply drying my hands. I turn to him and cross my arms. "So at 6 we are meeting him where?"

"We are meeting him at that cute little pasta place a few blocks away. God, I'm so excited for you guys to meet! I know you'll be the best of friends!"

"Now Alice you need to be on your very best behavior okay? We're meeting uncle Niall's boyfriend and we don't want to scare him off okay?" I say as I put her hair in pigtails.

Getting her dressed and ready was a hassle lately. She's going through a phase of always wearing her ballerina outfit the moment she wakes up until the moment it's bath time. Thanks, uncle Niall.

"I promise daddy," Alice says with a smile.

I put on her little sandals for her and pick her up. I agreed to meet Niall there since he's with Liam right now and will probably leave with him.

Once inside I spot Niall and who I presume is Liam sitting beside him. Alice is propped on my hip as I walk over to them. Liam stands and shakes my hand and gives Alice a high-five.

"Hi Louis, it's so nice to finally meet you. Niall talks about you nonstop," Liam chuckles as we sit. Alice sits beside me her big blue eyes taking in Liam. "Alice looks so much like you!"

I smile. "I hope it's all good things. And of course. The Tomlinson genes are strong!"

We order food and have idle chatter. I really do like Liam. Niall is head over heels in love with him. They've been seeing each other since March but I never had a chance to meet him since I've been busy with teaching high school chemistry and taking care of Alice.

I learned that Liam owns a law firm with his best friend and they're two of the best lawyers in London. He also has a house outside of the city and has a dog named Jack. Alice told him all about her pet turtle Sheldon. Liam listened to her babble on and on. No idea where she gets it from.

"Excuse me a minute lads," Liam says as his phone rings. He gets up and answers it.

Niall looks at me expectantly. I shoot him a smile.

"I really like him, Niall. He's a keeper," I state. Alice curls to my side and has heavy eyes and looks up at Niall.

"He's really nice uncle Niall. Do I get to call him uncle Liam?" She asks.

"Well, that's up to Liam sweets," I say "how come you want to call him uncle Liam?"

"Well, he and uncle Ni are gonna get married!" Alice says excitedly.

"Oh really?" Niall says with a smile leaning his chin on his hand. A stupid love-struck smile. Liam returns to the table moments later.
