Hunting the lake monster

Out on the Jade Lagoon lake, more cops patrolled the lands near the lake with their-9 unit dogs in search of the lake monster, but their dogs were taking their time to sniff the grounds in case they scented something from their noses, but the cops must have their flashlights on like always when entering the darkness in case if there's a hungry predatory animal around the lake. More than ten cops with or without their K-9 unit dogs are armed and exploring the lands around the lake in search of the lake monster until they found odd footprints that look nothing like a reptilian animal's footprints and they were huge about three feet long as the dogs sniff it till they started pulling on the cops who got the leashes on them till they untied them from their leashes to resume following the trail of the beast's odor. In a couple of moments in following the dogs they discovered more fresh footprints from the lake monster and there was also, a trail of blood is making the search easier for the police crew to find that beast a lot faster when they find where the blood trail leads them to, but they must have their firearms safety off before entering the path where the blood trail and fresh footprints are.

One of the cops told their dogs to go easy for his crew and go slowly so the others can catch up and cannot lose some stamina in such a hurry state when investigating in search of the lake monster in a time like this. The dogs will slow down the leading and be cautious in their surroundings when the whole group reaches the end of the line of the blood trail, they'll be getting an unpleasant surprise from the beast or not? Some of the cops were feeling their hearts beginning to beat faster in their chest, how it is feeling tight on them as they are somewhat scared in entering a scary place in the dusk of how everything is getting gulf in blackness, but they must not quit or give in. The whole group was starting to hear strange noises of calls from an unknown species of animal from a far distance before they started hearing puff and grunting noises nearby and that startled some of them as one of the cops starts ordering them to turn off the lights from the flashlights as there is still light outside.

Cop: *To his group* Okay, everyone. We must be very quiet and remain calm or the beast will hear us.

Cop 2: *Afraid* How long when this investigation stops because I want to leave.

Cop 3: Oh, quit your worrying, we are policemen and we don't cower like a bunch of young gangs who are so afraid of us and I say, that beast is afraid of us when we confront it.

Cop: We will see what that lake monster looks like because we must get it dead or alive.

Cop 4: Yes, a cryptid beast like that will be worth a fat fortune for our checks when we get this beast. I wonder how the public will feel about seeing this creature from the internet or in person?

Cop 3: *To cop 3* Who knows? Let's get back to work.

All of the cops and their dogs have gone further and further in following the trail and they still can clearly hear the same strange noises from earlier, but they must be brave and bring down that lake monster instead because they must attempt to kill this lake monster before it kills more people when it comes with visitors entering its habitat on foot. One of the dogs started growling and barking and this starting to scare the cops about how the dogs are going to attract the beast's attention until they ran out of their sight straight in line along the pathway of blood trails and fresh footprints. The cops turned back their flashlights on and picked up their movement speed to catch up to the dogs to find where they are until they reached the cave that was near the lake with the moonlight beginning to shine upon the opening from the ceiling of the cave where there's greenery down there, but they found some fresh animal bones that were killed like a couple of hours ago or more and there was still meat left on one of the bones from a deer, bear, cattle, and several wild hogs and next was a bloody footprint near the edge of the water.
