"No? Did you just say no?" The look on Andrews face is one I have never seen on him before. It looks like a mix of anger, disappointment and confusion. His eyes feel like they stare right into my soul. Nervously I bite my lip, I don't even know what to say. "Mylle?" I sigh and turn my head away from him.

"I am sorry, my Lord.", I tell him honestly. I never wanted to disappoint him, which is the truth. Andrew shakes his head. "How can you say no to me? Explain this to me Mylle." How can I explain this? This is so hard... "I do not know how to explain this properly, but I think... I think we should just remain friends. I am not ready for marriage yet." He gives me a weird look. "Not ready yet? You are seventeen my Lady! If you wait one more year you will be grey and old and no one will ever look at you anymore. Then you would be too late to get married. And you think you are too young? Please, save me this worthless excuse. If this seriously is the truth, then you're out of your mind." I press my back against the wall of the small alley. Andrew is going mad, I don't know what to do. "Please Andrew, don't be unreasonable. What I told you was the truth, but I am definitely not insane. There are woman who want to be indepent and who want to wait a little while longer before they get married." I look at his hands, which are shaking. "Okay. Do whatever you want. I don't want anything to do with you anymore. Wait til you aren't this beautiful anymore, when your pretty face makes place for an ugly old face. Then you will remember me and cry every night in your room, regretting that you didn't marry me." He turns around and leaves the alley, without giving me another look. "Goodbye, Lady Mylle."

I bite my lip hard as a sort of punishment for myself. I didn't want to lose Andrew as a friend. From now on everything will be awful, if he tells anyone about my decision shame will come down over me. And then he would be right, no one will ever look at me again. It is necessarily not a bad thing for me, but my mother would be heartbroken. I take a deep breath and leave the alley.

Soon I find myself surrounded by all the marketman again, shouting about the quality of their ware. "Hey there my Lady! You look stunning.", a random man says. He looks foreign, I have never seen him before. "Thank you.", I answer him, not sure of his title. He smiles gently and I smile back, but after that I quickly continue my way. Not in the mood for conversations right now. I guess I can't help it but draw attention. "Lady Mylle, what a pleasure.", I look up and see Lord Jack. He is probably one of the most influental people around here. He owns a castle! Not many people can say that they do. "The pleasure is all mine, my Lord.", I curtsy. "Lady Mylle, I am here to invite you to the ball at my castle. It will be tomorrow, when the market has ended. It is a lovely feast to celebrate these great two days." I nod and smile gently. "Of course I will be there, thank you my Lord."
