I walk home in a trance. Divergent. Divergent... It sounds like some kind of weird faction or something. I finally approach home, taking a long walking route. I can already faintly hear my mother and father screaming at each other. One will leave after the choosing ceremony. I just know it. They both have left at one time or another, but always come back eventually. But this time, I know they won't.

I don't want to deal with the conflict, not today. NOT today. I run the way I came, back alleyways and streets, to the trains. I watch them circle around our world inside the fence from a nook in the train tracks I always escape to. And once again, I feel that presence that I feel every time I'm here. Like Someone or something is always here with me. Sometimes, I pretend it's a fake person and talk to it, others I just sit and ignore. Today though, I talk.

The sun starts to set, and I slowly retreat from my hidden spot on the tracks. I walk back though the alleyways, to home. But not home, not the place I go to feel warm or welcome, I go to my prison, where I'm locked in my cell of a room. A temporary holding cell.

And I'm just waiting to be set free that day.

The day I change my fate.

That night I have a dream. To complex to explain. All I know is what my choice will definitely not be, but it doesn't narrow my options to what it will.

They will start getting longer I promise😊
