Staring at the depths of horizon, where the world ends,
Clasped both her hands she stood, firm defying to bend. The storm inside her grew more and more,
With a wish, next to impossible, shattered her core. The setting sun shone bright signifying he did what was right,
Expectations that society had, forced her soul in box shut tight.Only rays of light faded away as the sun drowned in the sea,
Maybe she was not for this world as she felt worthless like a tiny pea.Walking at the shore, she gave time to her soul to mend,
But alas! The darkest night befallen and sucked her strength. With darkness all around, she felt soulless ,
"Oh well! Nobody cares." That's what her mind said.Neither stars nor moon came to guide her,
"Maybe, I'm so vile." Said her heart with a pain hard to bear.Waves splashing at the shore, mixed with her tears as she's half in water,
With a decision to attain peace which was never hers. With every step, she drowned more and more,
Far from her gifted destiny which she chose to end."STOP!" A voice came to her ears,
She stopped, subconsciously taking each step back and fell on the ground with tears."Why? Who stopped me?" Questions stormed her brain,
Calling out didn't helped so she sat on the sand, feeling so frail."It was me." Again the voice whispered,
This time she knew, who it was so her eyes glistened."Why? I am NOBODY!" She assured herself,
No one answered, maybe she again expected more from herself.A smile of despair struck her lips,
Maybe she was meant to die bits by bits."Know thyself." The voice came stronger than before,
As if struck by lightning, she moved far from shore. She closed her eyes to meet the darkness,
Driving it off, happily, opened her eyes to greet the first rays of rising sun.She underestimated herself, "Oh! How foolish I have been.",
Now, she knew her true self. With a gleaming face, she stared at the rising sun, which gradually took away the darkness of night,
As she turned away biding farewell to the dawn. With one hand on her heart she whispered "Thank you!",
Walking with confidence and pride, she left the shore with her new self....... More ready than ever to face this cruel world.- By Aditi Sharma ❤️❤️
