Disclaimer : I do not own Fairy Tail or any of the characters, Hiro Mashima does. I also do not own Cassandra Cheney, she belongs to her rightful owner, RebelPanda.Rogue's Pov
I cannot believe this is happening. Why in the world did my Mother let a girl sleep in my room when she is the one who told me that no girl is allowed behind a closed door?
She's a Fairy Tail student, a supposedly enemy of a Sabertooth student like me. She is their vice president on top of that--does that not make her my rival? She's a troublesome blonde.
"Um..."
I can feel my eyebrow twitch in annoyance as the blonde haired girl tried to initiate a conversation. I shoved Sting's drooling mouth away from my face and sat down to see her sitting in my bed, looking down at the sheets.
"What?" I muttered in annoyance, contemplating the thought that she could have stayed at Sting's house instead of the three of us sleeping inside my room. They have been invading my personal space.
She became silent. I sat down and glanced at the alarm clock in the small table behind me. Ah great, it's already past twelve in the morning, I had no assignments finished with me and tomorrow will be troublesome.
I laid my back on the bed, deciding to go to sleep instead of accumulating eyebags and diziness through lack of sleep because of a troublesome fairy.
"I'm sorry..."
Closing my eyes, her soft voice muttered an thank you.
Whatever.
Lucy's Pov
Slowly opening my eyes, I stared up at the white ceiling of the room I was in.
I sat up and tugged the ends of my hair, letting out a whimper. The bed smells like dark chocolate that I could not set aside the thought that ants may crawl on my skin as I fall asleep.
I looked down on my two male companions who were having a deep sleep on the floor. It was only five o'clock in the morning and since I had plenty of time before leaving here and find a place to stay, I stood up and fixed the bed.
Once done, I walked tippy toes towards the door and successfully went out the room, carefully not to bother them in their sleep. I will feel bad if I do.
I walked downstairs to see Cassandra-san in the living room as she watched the early day news and sipping a cup of steaming instant coffee.
She noticed my presence and whipped her head back to greet me. "Ah, you're awake quite early Lucy-chan" she smiled, putting her mug down the coffee table.
"Yes, thank you for letting me stay the night" I bowed half of my body ninety degrees as a sign of gratitude. She gave out a laugh which made me stare up at her in confusion.
"It's not a problem really, it's nice to have a girl here with me once in a while" her lips tugged in a cheeky grin that disabled me to blink.
Oh my gosh, I can't. This lady is breathtaking.
After finding my reaction hilarious and laughed a bit more, she stood up with the now empty cup in her hands. "Would you like a cup of tea?"
"A glass of milk would be nice" I smiled, following her towards the kitchen and placed the cup in the sink. I stared at the dirty dishes filled with water.
Cassandra-san must have noticed my gaze as she spoke, pulling out a carton of fresh milk from their refridgerator. "Are you hungry? Skia-chan already ate and went to work a while ago"
"Did he really need to go on work this early?" I asked, watching the milk being poured from the carton onto the tall glass.
She pursed her lips before pulling out a cookie jar on the top shelves. We took a sit on the coffee table. "Ah, he's not going to work. He's picking up Weiss-kun on the airport"
I gave an small 'oh' finding it rude to interrogate her from an unnecessary question. Taking a bite from the delightful treat, a frown was formed in my mouth as the crumbs fell on the table. Eating cookie is a mess when it comes with me.
"That's right, will you be staying at the dorm in the Academy?" she asked, smiling at my contorted face. I gave a nod, swiping the crumbs off the table onto my hands and throwing it in the nearby bin.
"But the stay there is expensive, I must say" she muttered, pursing her lips. "The last time I asked Yukino-chan how much her parents pay for her door room, she told me it was about 200,000 jewels a month"
I almost drop the glass from my hand at the mention of the dorm room price. I put it down the table and gave an awkward laugh. "2-200,000?"
She gave a nod and laughed. "That's why I'm telling you, just stay here with us!"
"No you can't, Mom"
My eyes almost popped open from their sockets as Rogue-kun appeared beside me, leaning in to snatch a cookie. He glanced at me midway and went to stand beside his mother.
"Eh? Why not?" Cassandra-san raised a brow up, watching his son delightfully feasting on the cookie before answering.
"We don't have an extra room. Also, why not in Sting's house? It's really spacious"
"What is it about our house?"
I turned around to see Sting-kun yawning, rubbing his stomach which seemed to have a glorious pack of *cough* well toned *cough* abs.
I almost choked on the milk and turned my head back on the Cheneys.
"What we were talking about is let this troublesome Blonde stay in your house instead of the dorm" Rogue-kun answered, now rummaging the refridgerator for a jug of water.
Sting-kun went to grab a cookie and spoke. "Ah, I don't really mind but.." he bit it and stared at Rogue-kun. "Why are you even awake this early? Did some ghost possess you or something?"
Cassandra-san laughed at that. Was Rogue-kun not a morning person?
"It was because your foot was kicking my face you lightbulb" Rogue-kun retorted, throwing a piece of cloth in Sting-kun's direction yet failed to hit him miserably.
I watched Sting-kun go towards the door and grab his shoes. He was about to dash out the door but stopped, whipped his head back and threw me a dazzling smile. I felt my breath hitched for a second.
"Well then, see you guys later!"
"Ara, ara, what a lively child he is" I heard Cassandra-san spoke as I felt her soft and delicate fingertips on my chin, closing my mouth that I have no idea was hanging open.
"Isn't he, Lucy-chan?"
I gave a small nod, my eyes meeting a pair of red ones staring intently at me. He immediately break the gaze and went towards the sink to wash his face.
"Yes" I muttered. "He certainly is"
