Ch. 25

Chapter 25:

I was dreading coming back to school but at the same time, I couldn't have been more relieved to get away from home. While I love being with my mother, I've always felt trapped. While I just came out of Azkaban and I was free, I still felt trapped. Classes were the same, Cho and I had spent lunch together in the library gossiping and doing herbology homework. I was thankfully able to avoid Cedric all day, I still really didn't want to face him. I had a meeting with Remus to discuss further parts of the plan after school. Once I was done, I headed to the courtyard to do homework with Draco's lot since the trio was busy. As I made my way down to the tree they were studying, I heard the one voice I didn't want to hear.

"Tess!" Cedric called out. I ignored him and kept walking with a straight face. A wave of panic rushed over me when I heard his footsteps following behind me. "Tessa!" I keep walking. Please give up. Please don't talk to me. A strong hand grips my wrist and turns me around and I am faced with his stormy grey eyes staring into mine. "Tessa! Did you get my letters? You didn't reply and I was worried something happened, are you okay?" I tear away from his grip and try to back away from him.

"Diggory you should go," I say simply.

"Okay I've been meaning to talk to you about that Tess, since when do you call me by my last name? I thought we were on a first name basis by now." Cedric tries to make a joke but I keep a stern face.

"I mean it Diggory you should just go back to your friends," I turn away from him but he runs and blocks me from walking any further.

"Tessa what's wrong? Are you mad at me? What did I do?" He questions with pleading eyes.

"It's more of what you didn't do," I mumble.

"Tess what are you talking about?" I couldn't take it anymore. All the pent up anger I had towards him was coming out. All at once.

"I could honestly care less about the shit Harris says to me. I could care even less about the shit he does to me. But he hurt Draco, he touched my family. And I can't just stand there and let him do that. It's so obvious he's mad about me talking to you so it's best if we just don't talk anymore."

"Tessa please, I'm sorry. Ben's a prick I know he's a tough person to please but I swear he'll eventually warm up to you!"

"Eventually warm up to me?! He's not! Why can't you see that? He stunned Draco and he went unconscious. He literally tried to poison me and it was Draco who ended up in the hospital wing! My brother almost died! Because someone didn't like me. And you know what Diggory? Every single time he said something you stood there. You stood there and let it happen."

"Tessa please, I've tried talking to him-"

"Just stop, okay. You don't have to try and explain yourself; it doesn't matter at this point. Every single time he did something to me or Draco in public, you stood there and didn't do anything to stop him. And I get it, okay. I get you're that a Hufflepuff and you like to stay loyal to your friends because that's what's important to you and I respect that. So I'm gonna need you to respect what's important to me. And what's important to me is Draco's safety, more than anything. I care about him more than anyone else in the world and to see him get hurt because of me is something that I can't let happen. Harris is out of control. And if you can't see that what he's doing is wrong then I don't think we can be friends anymore," And with that I push past him and walk away, not checking if he looks back.

OKAY I AM SO SORRY I TOOK SO LONG TO UPDATE. I've been packed with work for finals and I started a new story and I needed to work on that too. I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter a lot happened even tho it's rly short. (I'm sorry to all the Tedric shippers but dw dw they'll be back I swear).
