Here it is. The day of the party. I was really excited; I just needed to make it through school and free I was! My first week has gone by crazy fast! I liked all my classes and the teachers! I hadn't really made a whole lot of friends yet, but that's why I was so excited for the party! I walked into math, and there was jasmine. She was sitting next to the seat I had been sitting in. I think she was my first official friend.
"Hey, Jas!" I said as I smiled warmly at her.
"Hey, lovey!" She loved making nicknames up for people; that I had noticed. Her boyfriend, Chris, walked in, kissing her on the cheek.
"Hey, gorgeous. Sup, Hayleigh?"
"Hey!" Jas and I said at the same time. Chris sat in front of Jas.
"So Hayleigh, you ready for tonight?" Jasmine said with a big smile on her face.
"Of course! I'm hoping to meet some new people. Hopefully make some new friends!" I smiled back at her.
"You'll basically be meeting the rest of the senior class. Maybe we can find you a new boy toy." She said, laughing. That would be nice; maybe it would keep my mind off Derek. The bell rang, and the teacher stood up to start class. Shortly after the teacher had begun talking, my phone went off. Thank god I had it on vibrate, I said to myself.

Jas- wanna come to my house tonight to get ready?

Hayleigh- that would be awesome! I just have to stop by my house after school and then I'll come over!

Jas- sweet deal!

Finally, it was the end of the day. I made my way to the car. Derek parked in the same spot every day, so it was really easy to find him.
"Derek, do you min if I take the car over to my friends house? I'm going to her place to get ready for that party tonight."
"Yeah, that's fine. Just don't get into trouble." He laughed. Me get into trouble? He obviously didn't know me very well. I was not huge on trouble. My biggest fear was getting arrested. We got back to the house. Derek got out and I crawled across the car to get into the drivers seat.
"Be safe. Call me if you need me to pick you up. Speaking of that, what's that girls address so I can get the car incase I need to get you." I wrote down her address on a piece of paper. Luckily it was only give minutes down the road, so Derek could walk if he needed to.
"Don't worry, Derek. I'll be careful. I will probably most definitely call you for a ride."
"Just so you know, I'm not a huge fan of underage drinking, but I do know you're starting a new life and need to fit in. Just don't make a habit of it." He smiled at me.
"Okay, dad." I laughed as I put the car in reverse and sped down the road. Before I knew it, I was at Jasmines. I pulled in the driveway and got out, heading to the front door. Before I even had a chance to knock, an older lady opened the door.
"Ah, you must be Hayleigh. I'm Jasmines mother. It's so nice to meet you. Go ahead up stairs. Her room is the first door on the right." I made my way upstairs and knocked on Jasmines door.
"Come in," I heard Jasmine tell. I walked in. I noticed she was already dressed and had another outfit laid out on the bed. "I figured you would need something to wear tonight, and I thought this would look great!" It was a short gold, sparkly dress. She had silver high heels on the floor beneath it and some silver jewelry laid out next to it.
"Wow, this is amazing! Thank you so much!" She pointed to the bathroom, and I headed in to get changed. When I walked back out, Jasmines jaw dropped.
"You look gorgeous, lady!" She smiled at me.
"Why, thank you." I could feel myself blushing a little.
"Now let's get this party started!" Jas sang as we made our way to her car.

It was a short drive from her house to where the party was. We pulled in, and I noticed all the cars. Literally everyone was here. People were out on the lawn with red solo cups in their hands; I could see the shadows of people inside dancing to the beat of the music. Jasmine and I got out of her car, making our way inside. The party was jumping!
"I'll go get drinks," Jasmine shouted to me. I waited for her to get back. Chris walked over to me.
"Where did Jasmine go?" He asked me.
"She'll be right back. She went to get drinks." He nodded his head as we stood there waiting for her. A half an hour passed since we got there; still no sign on Jasmine.
"Are you sure she just went to get drinks?" Chris looked at me confused.
"That's what she said. Come on, let's go find her." We searched outside and the whole down stairs and couldn't find her. We slowly made our way up the stairs. We were pushing through people because they were taking up the whole staircase. We got to the top, looking around. I pointed to an open door, so we walked over and looked inside. Nothing. Chris pointed to a door, assuming it was the bathroom.
"Let's go check there," he said. "I think it might be the bathroom." I followed him to the closed door. He knocked gently; even I couldn't hear it, and I was standing right next to him. He slowly opened the door, and his jaw dropped immediately. What did he see?
