"Ophelia, wake up." The backs of my eyelids were suddenly brighter, leaving me to realize it was morning. I rolled off of my stomach, feeling a cold place on my cheek where I had drooled. "Ophelia, you have work in an hour, and I can't drive you" my mother explained as she opened my door. I didn't respond, causing her to say "Damnit, wake up." I tried to savor the last bit of warmth as it was crudely ripped from me. I stretched, many of my bones making audible pops as I tried to sit up on the edge of my bed. My mother looked at me in mock disgust before throwing my comforter beside me. I began to try to make my bed before I got bitched at for not. "Did you hear what I said?" She asked. "Yes mother, I'm up am I not?" I could see a fire light in her eyes so I yawned, loudly, trying to evade her wrath. She began to speak after I had finished, but I already knew she was just going to repeat herself and I absolutely hate when people repeat themselves. I interrupted her, moving her finger gently from my face, "I'll find a ride. I think Jasper and Kate work my shift today, so I'll ask them." she rolled her eyes as she grumbled: "You just want nicotine." I rolled my eyes at this comment. "Firstly, no. Secondly, if you'd purchase it for me, I wouldn't have to buy it off people my age for a higher price." she stared at me before stating, "You know I won't buy it for you so I don't understand why you proceed to ask every time I mention it." she grew louder and louder as she spoke, the fire back into her eyes. I was over the conversation: "can you just  get out so I can get ready?" she scoffed, and turned curtly, stopping only at the door to say "don't forget to take your meds, can tell you haven't yet today." No shit sherlock. She slammed the door behind her. She was so extra for no reason. I rolled my eyes at the thought. The cold floor smacked my feet as I stood, causing my whole body to tighten to the point I almost fell onto my face. Well not really, but my knees did lock up. Oh hell, maybe I'm the dramatic one.

How would any teenager want to spend a nice, fall, Saturday morning? Surely not sleeping in, no! They'd be joyous to go to work at a fast food chicken restaurant where more taxes are taken than salary given. Thanks capitalism! All my thoughts began to jumble together, leaving me on my bed undecided on what I needed to do. One thought finally pushed it's way to the front: take your meds. Thanks brain. I need to get up and take my meds before I forget, but I also need to get ready and brush my teeth. I can probably get away with just throwing my hair into like a twisted bun. Then I also need to text Jasper - shit, Jasper. I quickly picked up my phone, 9:20, okay less time had passed then i thought, and i had about 20 minute to get ready. I threw my phone and walked away before i remembered to call Jasper and walked back to it. I picked up my phone and decided to just text him.

-Hey can you pick me up?

I waited for an answer, walking towards my closet to pull out my clothes.

-Do you need a ride to work again? Kate doesn't feel good so she called off.

I sighed and found my work jeans and shirt before responding. Kate is Jasper's girlfriend. She is very dramatic. There is always something wrong with her.

-Yeah, I work at 10, can you take me or not?

I threw my phone on the bed and walked to my bathroom to brush my teeth. As I entered I glanced at my meds, trying to force myself to remember to take them. I could hear my phone buzzing but I forced myself to stay in the bathroom so I would remember to do the things I needed to do. I put my tooth brush back, and threw my hair into a messy bun so I could wash my face. After applying moisturizer, I glanced into the mirror. Why do messy buns only ever work when you're trying to clean your face or go to bed? It's unfair. I decided to just leave it in instead of trying to do a ballerina bun. I could hear my phone buzzing, so I grabbed a pill and started to fill my water cup. I swallowed my pill and half the water in my cup, sprayed some rose water on my face and left my bathroom. I picked up my phone.
