Forlorn, in inexplicable agony
She had walked away,
leaving behind in her sister's arms, her beloved!
With not a tear spent nor an angry outpour,
She had walked away from a false life!
Yet with each step,
The ache that welled in her chest
made it difficult to contain,
all the tears she had refused to shed. The damn had broken
When she had reached a house far away
from a place she called home,
to a house she was to make home!
Tears, bitter tears rocked her form
A betrayal from two people she had considered her world,
too arduous to take on her tender, trusting heart! She cried till she had no tears left
shuddering as her heart with an intensity wept
From dusk till dawn for an entire day
Till a resolve to move on was made! The next dawn brought with it
Hope synonymous to the rising sun
With newspapers, notepad and a cup of coffee,
an endeavour to search for a job offer began!A list of open positions she could take
made up a long list,
With a mental note for a schedule,
She was ready to move ahead! But alas as days passed,
the rejections began to tax down on her,
Clinging onto her resolve,
was indeed an endeavour! With deep breaths she braced herself,
for one last try before she gave up.
Little did she know the outcome of it,
a concealed yet destined gift!As she stepped towards the cabin,
it felt like a step towards new life,
her brows furrowed as she felt
unexpected anticipation build up!A knock and she was called in,
the voice that did, stirred something within her heart.
she shook her head and made it in,
deciding on ignoring it throughout! Her eyes met with a pair of browns
So guarded yet so deep,
it was a moment before she lowered her eyes,
but it sure felt like eternity!_
Akin to embers they burnt,
the flashes of betrayal
Even after all this time,
they hurt just the same!An incoherent sound numbed the pain,
a smile made its way again
He lifted the reason to live in his arms
glowing with happiness as she snuggled against one.Pressing a tender kiss against her forehead,
a finger in her small hands he slipped
watching the one thing left behind after a betrayal that wrecked his world,
one that made living life worth!Adira - her name meant strong
she was what kept him sane all along
his tiny bundle of joy who was bereft
of the one thing he couldn't get!Tears flowed down, following a familiar path,
he wasn't devastated as much as a husband as he had been as a father to the little one!
he couldn't comprehend how something could be above this tiny life,
Wasn't Mahima a mother much more than she had been his wife?Sleep found him a few hours before dawn
yet he woke up with the sun
He followed his schedule and got his sunshine ready,
before settling in his car to move towards his office!A mentally tiring day with candidates so inefficient
his head throbbed in pain and in irritation.
Gulping down his fifth cup of coffee,
he braced himself for the last candidate's inefficiency! But when the person entered,
all he caught sight of were her dark orbs.
He couldn't move his gaze away
her expressive eyes did, a lot convey. The vestiges of pain and fading hope,
tinted with a speck of optimism.
Gazing into those orbs felt familiar,
for he recognised that pain similar to his own!As she lowered her eyes,
a moment so little yet profound broke,
a sensation unfamiliar coursed through him,
something dormant within it awoke!
