Hasan woke up to a faint sound coming from the open window. He yawned and slowly sat up while rubbing his face with his palms. After stretching his arms, he slid down the bed and wore his slippers.

He picked up the LED alarm clock from the side-table and glanced at the time which blinked the time, 5 am.

Hasan walked to the washroom only to find it occupied by his younger brother, Bilal. The two siblings argued which disturbed the silence of the early morning.

"What are you two doing?" A sleepy grumpy tone of a man quietened them. Hasan looked at him and whined,

- "Nothing, Abbi. Look at Bilal, he is in the washroom since eternity."

Abbi huffed while the little brat, Bilal, opened the door angrily. He threw an angry glance at his brother, who smirked. Then, he raised his chin and haughtily walked off.

"Hasan, you go after me."

"But Abbi,"– Hasan's mouth dropped, - "I need to pray."

"Me too," Abbi said sternly and Hasan quietened.

After his father was done, Hasan performed wudhu and hurried to his room. He unfolded his janamaz (prayer mat) and quickly read his prayers.

"Ya, Allah! Please, please let me pass with decent numbers. You know how much hard work I have done. I need admission to St. Xavier. Please." He made dua with uttermost sincerity. Then, he went down in sujood, touching his forehead on the praying mat, and repeated his dua. He remained so until he was interrupted by a squeaky female voice.

"Hasan, there is no use even if you glue yourself to the floor.' She joked.

Hasan pressed his lips tightly and opened his eyes; he shot his sister-in-law an annoyed look.

"Please Bhabhijaan, at least you don't mock me." He whined and she giggled in response by covering her mouth with her dupatta.

After she calmed down, she informed him about breakfast. It was then, Hasan realized that the sun was up. He rubbed his forehead, it pained a little, and quickly removed his skull cap, folded the prayer mat, and hurried to his cupboard. There was little time, but he never misses his yoga session. Hasan quickly finished his yoga, grabbed his clothes, and hurried into the bathroom. Luckily, it was empty.

 Luckily, it was empty
