HARPER CUREL'S POV:
The next day at school, I was sitting alone in the hall, waiting for Toby to get out of class. Drew came up to me. "Hey" he said. "Uh.. Hello." I said.
Come on, Toby.. I thought to myself.
"So, we meet again." He said. "Uh, yeah. I guess." I said, avoiding eye contact with him.
He lifted my chin and looked into my eyes. "Leave me alone." I said lowly and pushed his hand away. "Hey, I'm just trying to be nice." He said, grinning.
I just sighed. His grin seemed to have something to it.. Where is Toby? "Look, you hurt me too much before. You can't just come up to me after hurting me all those years and just assume that I've forgiven you." I said. Just then, Toby came over. "Hey love. Who's this?" He asked, looking from me to Drew. "I'm Drew." He said.
"Nice to meet you." Toby said. "So, I was wondering if you could come over." Drew asked me, obviously ignoring Toby.
"Actually, I have science club." I lied. I hated science. "You're lying. You hate science." He said.
"Uh..." I stalled. "She's actually coming over to my house after school." Toby said.
"Then cancel." Drew said. "No. We don't have to and we won't." Toby said. Drew turned and walked away. "Thanks." I said when Drew had walked out of the building. "No problem. So shall we go now?" Toby said. "Sounds good." I said, smiling. Toby smiled back and we walked out of the school building. Toby didn't live that far away so we just walked to his house. When we got there, Toby let me in.
We walked in the living room where his two brothers were sitting there, arguing about something. As soon as we walked in, they stopped arguing and looked at us. "Guys, this is Harper. Harper, these are my brothers, Riley and Connor." Toby said. "Hey" Riley and Connor said. I smiled at them.
"So what were you guys arguing about this time?" Toby asked, sitting his bag down and sitting on the couch.
"Nothing." They said. Toby just laughed a little bit and left it alone. "So where's mom and dad?" He asked. "Oh, dad's gone on business and moms out with a friend. She wont be back for a few days." Connor said. "Okay" Toby said.
"So Harper, how are you?" Riley asked me as Toby and Connor started talking about some sport they were in to.
"Fine. You?" I asked him. "I'm good. You can come sit down if you want. We don't bite." He joked. I laughed a little and sat down beside him."So, you're a friend of Toby's?" Riley asked me. "Yeah. You're his brother?" I asked. "Yeah. So, what do you like to do in your free time?" He asked me.
"Mainly read fanfictions. Sometimes I write. I also make videos sometimes. You?" I asked him. "Well, I love to play the guitar. 'Nd write songs." He said. "You write songs?" I asked.
"Yeah. Me, Connor and Toby do." He said. "Cool. Sooo" I said, not sure of what else to say.
"Toby said there's a new kid in class. I think he said his name was Drew?" He said.
"Yeah.." I said. "Have you talked to him?" He asked me. "Yeah, I've.. I've had a few words with him in the past." I said. "Oh. Do you like him?" He asked.
What was this? 20 questions?
"Well.. No. But I have my reasons. Everyone loves him but I know how he really is. Everything he does at school, it's just an act." I said.
"Oh. Do you like or play any sports?" He asked me, obviously trying to change the subject. "Eh. Basketball I guess. Either that or football." (Just to be clear: I am talking about 'soccer'. I just call it football.) I said. "Cool." He said.
"Hey Harp, we better get studying if we want to be done by dinner." Toby said, standing up. "Oh. Yeah. Well it was nice talking to you Riley." I said, standing up and smiling at him. "You too." He said, smiling back. I followed Toby up to his room.
