HOSTAGE.

Emilia knew she was one. It was fairly simple to deduce, but Emilia had to applaud Stefan for finally being able to use his brain. It was a smart move on his part taking the smartest person on Klaus's side out of the equation.

However, this time was different than the other times she was in captivity. She wasn't tortured, interrogated, or harmed. When she woke up at the old witch house, she tried to escape in any possible way, but she had no luck.

After that, luckily, she was able to have some alone time. For a while, she appreciated it. She could process what she saw in her head. Eventually, she accepted her actions once again but remembered the pain she felt during the ritual. After that though, it became a bit too lonely.

They'd bring her a small plate of food on a tray once a day with a sticky-note displaying the date. After two days, Emilia recognized a trend that it was just going to be fast food. She also came to realize that the one tray would be all of her food for the whole day.

Also, her accommodations were nowhere near accommodating. It was an old house from the 19th century with no plumbing, air conditioning, heat, shower, or bed. She had to get what little sleep she could on the cold, dusty floor with no blanket in the cool October night.

Emilia didn't know which form of captivity was worse. The short, intense capture or the slow, dragged-out capture she was experiencing currently. To her, both were equally horrible.

On the other side of town, Klaus was angry at Stefan. He took his family's coffins for over a month. His best friend and strategist was nowhere to be found and he didn't know what to do next. He was then forced to remove his hybrids from the town where they were searching for both of these things when Stefan threatened Elena. Luckily, earlier that day, he had gotten most of his coffins back from Stefan. He still didn't know where his mother's coffin and his best friend were.

Neither Klaus nor Emilia knew that they had actually been at the witch house together when Klaus got the coffins. Now, Daniel, one of Klaus's hybrids, shoves the coffins in a big room. Klaus is standing beside him. "You've got your family back. Finally. You're gonna open them?"

"Not quite yet. I still have some unfinished business to take care of."

"What business?"

Suddenly, Daniel is squirming and falls to the floor, dead. Elijah is standing behind him with his heart in his hand. Klaus looks shocked.

"So, Niklaus..."

"Elijah!"

"What did I miss?" Elijah is standing before Klaus, wiping the blood off his hands with a white handkerchief after killing Daniel. "You look surprised to see me. So it wasn't you that removed the dagger from my chest?"

"You look like you could do with a drink. And we have a lot to discuss, so shall we?" Elijah attacks him. Klaus flies through a window. "Easy. I just finished renovating."
