Rikka's POV
I was making my way to Ethereal Academy or E.A. It's the prestigious academy for angels and demons in my hometown, Coranes. I was wearing a school uniform, which consists of a white dress shirt under a dark blue jacket that has the school's symbol and a longer skirt. The bracelet that I had around my right wrist was a school identification. It looks like a normal accessory, but there are special scanners that are made so they can see who you are and such. Anyway, once I made it inside the school, I went straight to the office where they greeted me and escorted me to the principal's office. I bowed to the principal and he said, "Welcome to Ethereal Academy, Rikka. We've been expecting you." "Thank you, principal. It's an honour to be at this school." I said. "As you know, we give our students a demi-human to keep as a pet. This is because most students don't have their own demi-human, so we give one to them as it will benefit them and us. It keeps the students happy as well as those demi-humans will be useful to them whatever way it is. We checked your records, but it says that you never had a demi-human, correct?" He said, looking at a folder that was on his desk. I said, "Well when I was really young, my family had one demi-human. But when my parents were killed, that demi-human was taken away by the killers. He was the same age as me." "I'm sorry for what had happened to your parents. But don't worry, I can assure you that you won't be killed. As you are one of the only hybrids that exist in all of Almoria. Our school also has one of the best security systems in the country plus most of our students are very powerful and talented, so even if the security can't protect you, there's bound to be a student who would aid you. Anyways, let me lead you to have your demi-human be picked." He said, walking towards the door. I followed the principal through the halls, as we saw students passing by. Most of the students we passed by looked at me and then looked away. Then we entered into this dark place, but I could feel the magical aura in this place. We continued walking and saw these magic circles on the ground. The principal said, "You stand over at that magic circle. Then we'll bring in a couple of demi-humans and we'll go from there." I stood at the magic circle and then I see 6 demi-humans being brought inside this place. All of them had their wrists and their feet chained. Not only that they also had these markings on their necks or arms. They looked like they've been through a lot and some of them looked injured. I kept my composure and then the principal said to me, "Now, let your magical aura out and then focus it onto the magic circle. The magic circle will glow and then there will be a demi-human that will their markings respond to the glow. Then they will be your demi-human." I sighed and then let my magical aura flow out and then made my palms face the ground, where I focused it. I saw that it was glowing a purple-coloured light. Then I heard some gasps, so I looked up and saw that the staff were looking at the demi-humans. So I looked at them and my eyes widened. Three of them had their markings glow at the same time. The principal looked a bit confused, but then he told the staff to take the rest of the demi-humans away.
Now, it was just the principal, the three demi-humans and myself. "Rikka, I don't know how you managed to get three demi-humans to respond to your aura. As those who have more than 1 are considered very powerful and are usually those of higher ranks. If I'm correct, you don't have any ties to any royalty nor lords. So this is peculiar, but I should have expected this. Especially since you are a hybrid." The principal said. "A hybrid?" I heard one of the demi-humans ask. "Anyways, Rikka, since these three have responded to you. They're all yours. There's no point in making you choose as demi-humans who respond to the person are unable to respond to anyone else. You know how to make them yours, right?" He said. "I do," I said. "Good. I'll give you some time to do that as well as get to know your demi-humans a bit more before we move on. I'll be waiting outside." He said. The principal walked out of the place and I walked towards them slowly. I knelt and said, "My name is Rikka Starnight. What're your names?" "M-My n-name is N-Nico... I'm a c-cat demi-human..." the one with a blue streak of hair said. "I'm Zero. You could probably guess what I am. But I'm a dragon demi-human." the one with a red streak said. "Why the hell would I give you my name?! It's not like you even care about us. After all, you're just like them!" the last one said. "I don't think that's very nice to say. But I don't blame you, I would be the same..." I said, feeling a bit of guilt. "You're just gonna give us a nickname and then use us until you'll throw us away!" He exclaimed angrily. I came closer and whispered, "I hate this too... I personally don't want to force you all into making a pact with me. But it has to be done. Or else, things will get worse for me and even worse for you three." "I still don't trust you, believe me! But my name is Reign, but I hate that name, so just call me... Rei. I'm a wolf demi-human." the last demi-human said. "Alright, so I have to make pacts with all three of you. As a warning, it will be painful for a bit and you'll be forced to do everything I say even if you yourself hate it. Not only that, you'll be forced to address me as 'mistress. So you might be a bit confused about why you're saying 'mistress' instead of saying my name. I could also change your names and then you'd be forced to respond to that name, but I won't. All of your names are great and there's nothing for me to change about them. I'm telling you this so that you'd be prepared to make the pact with me." I said, slowly standing up.
