Born Evil

In the beginning, a princess was born. Though she was no ordinary princess, as the parents would be soon to find out. No, this little girl, which they named Elsa, had been cursed with a special gift: ice magic. She was only a toddler when she began to exhibit signs of this magical power, and although her parents found this strange, they thought it'd be best to keep it under wraps. Who knew what she was capable of.

Who knew if she'd hurt anyone.

In order to get a better understanding of it, the King and Queen encouraged Elsa to practice honing her skill. She would create snowflakes, make it snow in her room, throw random snowballs at servants, make people trip on a patch of ice, and generally goof off. Elsa was having the time of her life, while her parents let her be.

At least, until she was born.

The Queen had given birth to a beautiful little girl, and named her Anna. She didn't seem to exhibit any strange abilities, unlike her sister, but she radiated a charming aura that was unparalleled to her sister. Elsa grew jealous. Whenever she wanted to play, Anna was being fed. When she wanted to show off a new trick, she couldn't because "she'd wake the baby". Everyday was a new excuse from her parents, and this annoyed the ice princess.

Since when did she become not important? She was the one with magical abilities! All eyes should be on her!

And so, as the years went by, Elsa began to grow more and more jealous of her plainly average little sister. Anna, fascinated by Elsa's magic, would constantly annoy Elsa to build her a snowman. Until one day, Elsa had it:

"Psssst, Elsa..." Little Anna whispered into her sleeping sister's ear. "Elsa... wake up, wake up, wake up!"

Elsa turned around in bed. She didn't want to be bothered. 'If she so much as mentions the dumb snowman-' Elsa thought to herself, grumbling. "Anna, go back to sleep!"

But Anna kept pushing. "I just can't! The sky's awake, so I'm awake! So we have to play!"

Indeed, when Elsa opened an eye, she saw the light of the aurora borealis shine through their room. Her magic often was influenced by the magical light, which she came to believe not too long ago. "Go play by yourself," Elsa shoved Anna off her bed, and she closed her eyes again.

A moment passed, as Anna climbed back on top. "Do you wanna build a snowman?" She whispered, and at that, Elsa reopened her eyes. 'That's it,' she thought. 'If she wants a snowman so badly, a snowman she'll get.'

The two girls went down to the grand ballroom, Anna giggling the whole way over. Elsa herself was getting a headache. But soon, Elsa started up a little storm, letting snow piles build up and coat the floor, snow drifting from the ceiling, and ice spreading all across the floor. Anna was thrilled, as she went ahead and entertained herself with the magic. Everything was just so marvelous! Anna built herself a snowman, and named it Olaf. She skated around the ice rink, and slid down hills. When she told Elsa that she wanted to climb, a smile crept on Elsa's face and agreed.

And so, up and up Anna went, jumping off platforms that Elsa quickly built up. Higher and higher, faster and faster, until-

"CATCH ME!" Anna exlaimed, jumping off the highest platform Elsa could create.

'My pleasure,' Elsa smirked, and extended her hands to blast Anna with a chunk of ice directly in the head. Her sister was knocked unconscious, her limp body falling to the floor. She did not move. Curious, Elsa rushed over to check on her sister and saw a thin white streak gloss over her hair. Was she... okay?

Before Elsa could check for anything else, the doors to the ballroom busted open, and in came the King and Queen. They spotted their daughter on the floor and gasped, running over to scoop Anna out of Elsa's hands. "Elsa, what have you done?! This is getting out of hand!" Her father accused.

Her mother felt Anna's face and went sheet white. "She's ice cold..." she muttered.

The two shared a look and the King stood up, determined. "I know where we have to go." Heading back to his sleeping quarters, he pulled an ancient map from his belongings and took his family out on horseback in search of a magical troll hideout.

Upon arrival, the royal family found themselves in a rock garden patch, confused. Elsa looked over at her lifeless sister, confused as to what coming here would do to help, when suddenly, the rocks began to rumble. And then, they rolled. The royal family was surrounded immediately by these animate rocks, and they unfurled to gape at them. One troll came forth, and asked for the children to be brought forth. He took a glimpse at Elsa and asked the King, "Born with the powers, or cursed?"

"Uh- born!" He responded. "And th-they're getting stronger."

Elsa looked at her father, then to the troll, then to Anna. 'I never knew trolls were real,' she worried. 'Will they bring her back alive?'

After a quick scan over Anna, the troll spoke. "You're lucky it wasn't her heart. The heart is not so easily changed, but the head can be persuaded." The troll made quick work, working it's magic on the memories of Anna, and changing them to have no trace of Elsa's magic. What was he doing?

"So... she won't remember i have powers?" She asked.

"Listen to me Elsa," the troll let Anna be and motioned Elsa to walk with him. "Your power will continue to grow." With more magic sprinkling off of his hands, he conjured an image of a woman. "There is beauty in it... but also great danger." Elsa drew her attention back at the image, watching as it turned a shade of dark violet and the image sucked in the 'fear' of the townspeople around it. "You must learn to control it, before it controls you."

Elsa gasped, enthralled by the imagery. There was... potential. The fear... she could use that!

"Don't worry," the king pulled her back, holding her protectively, "we'll get her to control it. We'll... we'll close the castle doors. We'll lock the main gate. She'll no longer have contact with the rest of the world, and her powers will be hidden from everyone, for their safety." He hugged the rest of the family while Elsa smirked at the troll.

'Or so they think...'
