Sea Bound

Chapter 2

Arin's P.O.V

I was swimming through the narrow straight between Ios and Atlas when the water started to cool, I swim to the surface only to find chopping waves and grey clouds, I submerge myself beneath the waves, When I swam out further from the straight I heard something hit the water swimming in for a closer look I find that it's a girl from the surface, she had dark tanned skin and the most alluring blue-green eyes.

Realizing she couldn't swim I panicked and swam speedily towards her grabbing her and quickly sharing breath with her I bring her to one of the underground suites that the Ogyian society commissioned as a middle ground for those who where sneaking to the surface to populate the already inhabited islands.

I head to the surface to complete my mission, I was being sent to the surface to renegotiate the peace treaty with the islanders and possibly bring the rogue Ogyians back to the ocean depths.

When I reached the surface I was shocked to see the aftermath of the storm, The towns were both razed, wreckage was strewn everywhere there where corpses both of the islanders and the rogue Ogyians scattered in with all the wreckage.

I rushed back to the palace to inform them on the tragedy, I burst into the throne room out of breath huffing I managed to tell mother and her court the news from the islands.

"Send a search party onto the islands to look for survivors" my mother spoke in her usual commanding tone

" Yes Queen Larna" replied one of the guards as they marched out of the throne room.

All my thoughts where now focused on the girl that survived that fall and what I should tell her , When I reached the cave I see that she had awakened and it seems she noticed me as well , I ducked behind the rock island, Panicking at the fact I didn't know what I was going to say to her or how she would respond to the terrible news.

I leave the cave to seek some abvice from a friend, I head over to Geno's cave to ask him what I should do.

"So you got one of those land dweller chicks hiddin up in one of the land caves" Geno says with his regular cocky grin

"Geno I know what you're thinking and it's not like that" I say blushing up to my ears

" Suuuure" he says unconvinced

" Do you have any advice or not?" I asked,Wanting to change the subject.

"Fine your majesty" he replied sarcastically

I roll my eyes but let him give his advice.

"You basically have to start this conversation with Smalltalk and then get to the serious matter, try and calm her down if she gets hysterical, ok?" He says

I swam back to the cave to talk with her, I started the smalltalk the only way I could, by mentioning my old childhood friend who was an islander only to find out that she was Mara.

Oh boy was this gonna be tuff to tell her.

" Mara I have to tell you somthing" I say taking in a deep breath preparing myself for anything.

"The storm that knocked you off the bridge,well it did a lot more damage, what I'm trying to say is Ios and Atlas well the towns on them where destroyed by the storm" I say finally getting the knot in my stomach unwound.
