I'm thinking there's not enough Sykean on this app
_______

Stars were dancing in the sky as they watched.

Hues of orange, blue, red, any color Oli could think of. He never realized how beautiful it was here, all his life it was nothing but rain. Here in the forest, in the wild where he belonged, the stars shone the brightest he had ever seen.

Someone lie next to him, but he didn't have to look to know who it was. Vegan was the one who brought him here, and for that he was eternally grateful. He'd seen his fair share of beautiful things, tall trees and gorgeous gemstones, people who walked past and people he'd been friends with forever.

"Do you like the stars?" Oli asks, not moving to look away for a second.

"I like you." Vegan mumbles, barely a whisper in the night.

He was always so quiet, so soft spoken, so kept to himself. It took Oli a long time for him to warm up to him. He always has something to say, he's just never confident enough to say it. In moments like these, Oli likes to hear his whispers and mumbles. When it's late at night and he should be asleep, Vegan would mumble a nice thing about him against his shoulder.

"I'm not a star." Oli interlocked their hands, still looking at the sky.

"You're a star to me." he whispers, voice low enough only for the two of them to hear.

Silence for a while, utter silent as they both lie under the starry night sky. All that could be heard was the sound of the night bugs and both of their soft breaths. Oli felt his heart beat at a steady rate, he was calm as ever. He was never uncomfortable around Vegan, at least not now. Not since they started dating, not since they've been friends.

"If I was a star you wouldn't like me." he frowns to himself.

"I would love you no matter what you are."

"You don't like stars."

"But I like you." Vegan wrapped his arms around his boyfriend.

Silence again, he felt tears run down his face as Vegan continued to hug him. He didn't take his eyes off the stars at all today, but he knew all Vegan was looking at was him. He didn't like stars like how Oli did, but he liked seeing him fascinated with them. There was a childish wonder in his eyes that made his heart melt every time he saw. Any worries he had were gone when it was just them and the stars above.

"I'm not a star." Oli mumbles, feeling a smile grace his lips.

Vegan raises a hand to wipe away a fallen tear. Oli doesn't move, trusting him completely. The stars were so bright tonight, it illuminated his features in such a colorful light. Not that he wasn't beautiful, he always was. Underneath the colorful lights he was so fascinated with, it made him look angelic.

"You're not, you're Oli. Stars don't shine as bright as you do." he smiles sadly.

It was hard to do, but Oli ripped his gaze away from the stars to look down at his boyfriend. Vegan stared back, the same soft look in his clear sky blue eyes. The look he always gave Oli, one of pure adoration. You could see how much love he had for him by just seeing how he stared. Oli's eyes soften at that, a brown and green mix of colors meeting his blue.

He rests a hand on his boyfriend's cheek, a warm smile on his face. Of all the stars up in the sky tonight, Vegan only looked at Oli. He didn't stare at the swirls of color above, just the colors reflecting off Oli's face. It was love, pure and true love.

"All of the stars tonight will never compare to the sparkle in your eyes." Oli whispers, leaning in for a kiss.

It was as exciting as their first, hearts beating in sync and eyes fluttering shut. Their hands intertwined, so close and so connected. It felt like a fire after being freezing for so long. The warmth relaxed his muscles, all tension was melting away like ice to a flame. And when he pulled away to breathe he didn't waste a moment to kiss him again. He craved it, needed it. He needed him, not just his kisses.

"You're my fallen star." Vegan replies breathlessly, pulling him back in for more.

Like hot chocolate on a snowy day, the warmth reached his chest that was so different to the cold exterior. He was freezing and the only thing that kept him warm were the kisses. Sweet as chocolate, warm as the sun. He was in pure bliss, nothing could compare.

"Why do you want a fallen star when there are ones up there?" Oli mumbles against his lips.

"A fallen star I can reach, one I can hold and kiss. And tell him how much I love him." He smiles, such a genuine grin.

"You're too perfect for me, stop it." Oli blushes, hiding his face in his shoulder.

"I love you, more than any of the stars up in the sky. My fallen star, you're so beautiful in this light." he whispers, kissing the side of Oli's head.

"I love you too, to the moon and back and to the farthest reaches of the galaxy." Oli says, feeling his heart skip beats.

There was silence again, but it was so peaceful neither wanted to break it. Their own soft and shaky breaths and the nighttime ambiance was all they heard. It was quiet, and that's what they liked. It was always so loud when they were with everyone else. But together it was quiet, peaceful and silent unless if broken by a voice in the wind. Oli wanted to stay in this moment forever, the feeling of his boyfriend's arms around him as they lie underneath the stars above.

"Matt?" he yawns, rubbing one of his eyes.

"I wanna go home now, I wanna lay in our blankets and be warm with you." he trails off, feeling himself start to fall asleep.

"Let's go home then." he hums, sitting up and letting Oli latch onto him.

He carried him to the car, gently setting him down in his seat as to not wake him up. Oli mumbles something in his sleepy state but it was incoherent. He packed up the blanket they were on before, gently brushing off all of the grass and covering Oli with it.

"My sleepy star." he pressed a kiss to Oli's forehead before quietly closing the car door.

As he drove away, he continued to avoid looking at the stars in the sky above. Any chance he got, he flicked his gaze over to make sure Oli wasn't disturbed or suddenly awake. Oli was in between consciousness and unconsciousness. He was trying to fight falling asleep, wanting to stay awake but his body had other plans.

Vegan didn't seem to mind, he just kept a hand resting on Oli's leg. It was a soft enough grip to not hurt or disturb him but tight enough for Oli to notice he was there. When the car parked to a stop in front of their apartment, Vegan looked over to see Oli still trying to fight against his sleepiness. It was adorable, he looked like a little kitten.

"You can sleep, Oli." he reassures him, playing with his messy hair.

"But Maaaatt." he whines sleepily.

Vegan just smiles, carrying him out of the car and up the stairs to their apartment. Oli curls up in his arms, savoring his warmth. There were no words as they entered their apartment. He kicked the door closed behind him and went directly to lay Oli down to sleep. Their bed was covered in blankets, per Oli's request. He was always so cold at night, and as much as cuddling helped blankets were infinitely more affective.

He lies Oli down gently, covering him with about three blankets and smiling at him. He was so cute, curled up like a little puppy on a big bed. Oli mumbled something sleepily, but Vegan was already out of the room to try and make sure everything was locked to hear it. Not that he could understand anyway, Oli was so sleepy he could barely form sentences.

Eventually, he returned back to the room. Oli saw his faint silhouette in the doorway and felt the bed dip beside him. There was a gentle kiss pressed to his cheek, he giggled sleepily. He loved when he was soft with him, no matter the situation. If he was sick, sleepy, or just normal Oli.

"Sleep now, you need it."

"Goodnight Matt" Oli yawned.

"Goodnight my fallen star." he smiles to himself, letting his eyes shut.

They slept through the night peacefully, warm in the embrace of one another. Vegan wouldn't trade this feeling for anything in the world, this was pure happiness.
