now dressed in tight boxer briefs and a hoodie, jimin sat cross legged on his chair, diligently doing his AP Calculus homework at his desk. There was a calculator at his left and a pencil with a chewed up eraser in his right hand, having a tendency to chew on it whenever he was thinking too deeply.
he was almost done with his homework before he heard a knock at his door.
"come in," he muttered dismissively, trying to get the last stupid problem done.
his mom stepped into the room and jimin's head stayed ducked into his homework, hoodie over his hair that messily stuck up in awkward places.
she came in with a smile before taking in his attire, her face falling.
"park jimin, what are you wearing? we have guests coming soon!"
jimin's head shot up at this, his right hand tensing as he stopped writing.
"what??? why didn't you tell me?!"
his mom furrowed her eyebrows, scratching her head, "well... i thought that your father told you."
jimin looked at her, eyes narrowed and lips in an irritated pout.
"oh well, just hurry up and get ready!" she said before leaving the room, shutting the door behind her.
jimin rolled his eyes before turning back to his homework.
"just a few more problems, then i'll get ready," he reasoned in his head, not realizing that he had lost track of time, only getting his work done on his mind.
his mind made the selective decision to tune out the gentle knock on his bedroom, followed by the sound of the door opening softly.. before stopping.
"hey.." taehyung trails.
jimin jumps, cheeks pink as the new presence in his room startles him, "t-taehyung..." he trails back, swinging his chair to face him. his bare legs are exposed from under the desk, and taehyung pauses, eyes moving down before he is able to stop them.
jimin stares at him, absolutely mortified that his new neighbor saw him like this. clumsily, he pushes himself out of his chair as taehyung shuts the door, jimin scrambling for a pair of jeans.
a muffled, "sorry" is heard from behind the door and jimin's face cringes in embarrassment.
"i'm decent now!" he forces out nervously, and the door is opened again.
"your mom said you'd be up here, she wanted me to call you down for dinner," taehyung explains bashfully.
jimin simply nods, stuttering, "o-okay, be right there!"
—
after dinner, the kim family begins to say their goodbyes, but taehyung lingers behind. the young boys stand on jimin's front porch together, taehyung leaning against the railing as he scans jimin down to up, making eye contact at the end.
jimin blushes, failing to maintain the prolonged contact.
taehyung comes forward, fingers tilting his chin up to look at him.
"i'll see you soon," he says definitely before turning around and walking next door to his own house. jimin immediately released a sharp breath, having forgotten how to breathe being so close to taehyung.
"why are these boys making me feel this way?"
