Keegan-

I turned around abruptly and looked straight at Kyle. I was a little flustered and I had no idea why. Maybe it was because of the intense eye contact and the threatening aura he was giving off.

This guy really must want the captain spot. Geeze.

I shook my head and tried to calm down. Kyle and the whole table was either dead quiet or still staring at Deven.

I waved my hand in front of Kyle to regain his attention. "Hello, Earth to Kyle."

Kyle shook his head with the same blank expression he held when staring at the greek god.

"Sorry, but holy fuck man. Good luck fighting that guy for captain. He looks like he could kill you with a glare." Kyle chuckled nervously.

"Gee, thanks man. I think i'll be fine." I lied to myself.

It's easy to beat someone in your head when you have no idea how they act or how they are built. But now, I really am worried. Deven was taller than I am and like the girls said, he probably was ripped.

I am very lean and toned which is great when you play lean people but not when you are up against a ripped giant.

"Fuck me." I mumbled into my long sleeve.

Kyle looked up and smirked but then started to laugh. I swear he could never be serious, but thats why I love him.

"Hey, hand me your schedule."

Kyle reached into his backpack, got his schedule, and handed it to me.

I skimmed over it while reading out which classes we had together. "English, Spanish, U.S. History, and of course athletics. Oh and lunch." I smiled and handed his schedule back to him.

"Hey, 4 out of 7. Thats not bad at all." Kyle said while he grabbed his schedule out of my hand.

"What am I going to do without you for 3 whole periods?" I said while putting on my best puppy dog face.

"I don't know man. Try to survive brother." Kyle said, slapping my back.

The school bell rang which came with many sighs from the lunch table.

"Ugh, how did summer fly by so quickly?" I asked, getting up from the lunch table.

Kyle gave me a smirk while getting up from his seat. "I don't know but it was a hell of a summer."

I laughed and picked up my backpack. I looked down to examine my schedule in more detail.

8:00 - Pre-calculus

9:00 - Yearbook

10:00 - Spanish II

11:00 - U.S. History

12:00 - Lunch

1:00 -  Physics

2:00 -  AP English

3:00 - Athletics

I was dreading going to Pre-cal. Why would they give me a math class at 8:00 am? The thought was pissing me off more than I would admit.

I started on the long trek to the other side of the school where the math classes were held. Sometimes I think there are too many people shoved into this school. My foot has already been stepped on twice and I've barely made it 15 feet.

I finally made it into my math class and was relieved when I didn't know the majority of people. Math is not my strong suit. Am I embarrassed? No. Do I want people knowing? Also no.

I made my way to the back of the class and sat down in one of the chairs closest to the side windows. I checked my phone and Kyle had already sent me a crying face emoji.

'Miss me already?' I sent back to him, internally laughing at my friend.

I went to check Kyles next text as a body collided with the back of my desk. I glanced to the side to see who tripped over air and my eyes locked with the new kid. I rolled my eyes as he took a seat right next to me. Out of all the places he could have sat he chose that seat? Ugh.

Deven must know who I am because I can feel his eyes burning holes into the side of my head. I turned to look at him with a glare.

"Do you mind?" I said harshly. He clucked which made me internally roll my eyes.

"No." He said in a ridiculously deep voice. I kept staring at him. Only because he was staring at me. His eyes seemed to be searching my face for something. Which is super annoying. Finally, I turned away as the teacher began to introduce herself.

"Hello class and welcome to Pre-cal! I am Ms. Anderson. I know it is super early to learn math but bare with me. We will get through this together." That earned a few laughs from the girls in the front row. Other than that the whole class was dead silent.

"Okay, well. Let's go around and introduce ourselves. We will be doing a lot of partner work so this will help you in the long run. Okay we will go row by row." Ms. Anderson said while clapping her hands together. I rolled my eyes. Now I have to work with these people? Oh my god.

Some petite girl in the first row stood up and started to introduce herself. I immediately zoned out and began to think about what I would eat for lunch. Did I even eat breakfast? I questioned.

A tap on my shoulder brought me out of my daydreams. I turned towards the direction of the tapper and stared at Deven. There was no way it was my turn yet. Sure enough, it was'nt.

"Can I help you?" I asked annoyed. It was too early to be pestered by this guy.

"Who was that girl you were sitting by in the lunch room?" Deven said while smirking.

"Uh, my girlfriend?" I said. Was he trying to make me jealous? Because again that will not work.

"Yeah, the one that couldn't take her eyes off me. She is hot as fuck." Deven said while biting his lip. Is this guy serious?

"Everyone was staring at you. You look like you are 25." I scoffed. Deven smirked at my response making it seem like I was feeding his ego. Well, fuck.

"You were staring at me too." Deven said in his signature deep voice while studying my face again. Was this guy 25? Geeze. He sounds like the Hulk.

I raised my eyebrow at him and said a simple "Okay?"

This seemed to satisfy him for the time being so I turned away and realized I was next to introduce myself. I stood up as the girl in front of me finished speaking and sat down.

"My name is Keegan, I am a junior and I play lacrosse." I said, keeping it very simple.

I sat down and prepared myself to zone out once again when Deven started to speak.

"My name is Deven, Im a new student here and I was captain of my lacrosse team at my old school. I'm hoping to be captain here as well."
