FLASHBACK!

December 25th 2017

"C'mon soph it's snowing!" Walker said holding my hand and running outside.

We met Gavin and some of our other friends playing outside. Then Walker pulled me away.

"Wait! Where are we going? The Snow's over there" I said.

"I wanna show you something" he said.

Then he walked me over to a tree where I saw handprints.

"Soph I wanna make you a promise" he said.

"A promise what are you saying? Are you leaving?" I said not letting him speak.

"If you'd let me talk you'd know" he said chuckling.

"Fine" I said.

" Sophie I wanna tell you that no matter what we'll always be together. No matter how far away we are from each other, I'll always come find you. This I promise you" he said.

I looked at him with teary eyes as he put our hands on the tree forming a handprint. We hugged and went back running and holding hands.

April 26th 2018
I ran back to the tree.

He left...he really did. Without even telling anyone. I went back to his house to see a new family unpacking there. Looking at the tree only brought tears of sadness and anger.

He promised me....not even up to a year ago and then he left without saying anything. Gavin was always there to comfort me. But after some time, we started to drift apart. Sometimes it would be a week before we spoke to each other. And even if we did, it would be a simple 'hi' or ' how do you do?'.

Then after sometime we just went our different ways, but deep down we never wanted to. After some months, it became an old friendship; a forgotten one.

I hoped that it would become better from here. Remember I HOPED.

September 26th 2020
I had become a famous youtuber with over 1.3million across all platforms. Life was going well.

I had an amazing boyfriend, Jentzen. A best friend ,Piper and whole YouTube squad full of friends that kept growing gradually.

Everything was going fine until one day, our address got leaked. From then on it was hard to live peacefully.

Everyday we would get threats, things stolen and graffiti on our walls.

Piper and I found it more difficult to sustain our friendship because more people were coming into our squad. She'd rather spend time with her new friends and her boyfriend then me.

They would hurt my feeling's and I would keep quiet. They thought it was a joke but deep down it hurt me. Soon after the stalker raided the house, I to leave Piper's home 'for my own safety'.

At least that's what they said before they kicked me out.

You'd expect that my boyfriend would be there and support me but that's the exact opposite of what happened.

He not only broke up with me over YouTube but blocked me on all socials. Imagine losing all your friends in one day. Even the ones that lived in other countries (Mariam) cut all ties with me.

Then to think that it was all over and that it couldn't get any worse, I woke up to see police at my door all ready to get my cats.

And to make matters worse, Piper went all over YouTube and Instagram saying that I ran away. It was too frustrating. In just two days I had lost everything.

I knew what I had to do. I got off from my bed, took a balloon from my shelf and grabbed my camera. I told my mom I was going to the beach. I called an Uber which would be here in 20 minutes. If I was going to forget this and start over then I needed to let go.

When it got here, it took me to the beach. I brought out my camera and said my intro. I told the camera what I was doing and explained my side of the story about what happened to our friendship. I got the camera and wrote down this:

To all my friendships and relationships, you will forever be missed. All the times we spent together. I never thought that things would end this way. I always imagined us together forever. To Piper, Jentzen and the rest of the squad, you'll always be in my heart and I hope one day, we'll meet again. I can't bear it anymore so I have to let go. You'll always be in my heart and I'll always love you"
With much love,
Sophie.

I tied it to the balloon and walked over to the shore.

"Goodbye" I said.

I let it up and it flew into the air. It went past the beach, through the city until I couldn't see it anymore.

That part of my life had been gone and dealt with. If it was anything else, I would never go back to the past. Unlike some people who would want to go back to the past, I would never. I would never want to relive this ever again.

END OF FLASHBACK

"Wow all that happened to you?" Sarah asked.

"Yup now you see why I couldn't take it anymore. It was just too much" I said sighing at the end.

I looked at the time and saw that it was already 7:00pm. How long did I take telling a story?

"C'mon soph, we're supposed to be in our dorms by 7:30pm" Sarah said pulling me from the chair we sat on.

We walked upstairs to where the rooms were. And Sarah happened to be my roommate. We got in, changed and sat on our beds to sleep.

"Hey Sophie?" Sarah asked.

"Yeah?"

"I just wanna let you know that no matter what I'm always here for you" she said.

"I hear that a lot but no one seems to prove it" I said frowning.

"Then I'll be the first" she said grinning from cheek to cheek.

And I just laughed and nodded.

"Goodnight " we said at the same time and drifted off to sleep.
