*on hiatus*
Growing up in her siblings shadows Aries has to go through daily life knowing her siblings are living the dream while she's stuck in 9th grade.
Today is the day I'm dreading. The reason is because my older brother Ben is visiting. He won't be here until like half way through the school day and I don't plan on going home. I'm going to hang out at the local music shop so I don't have to socialize with my big brother.
"Morning momma bear!" I walked out into the kitchen with my school bag and my guitar in it's case.
"Morning sweetie!" My mom came over and kissed the top of my head. "Don't forget your brother is visiting today!"
"Ugh!" I slump back in my chair, "Hey mom I have something after school today I'll be home late." I checked the time, "gotta go mom bye!" I stood up grabbing my things running out the door. "Bye pops!" I quickly yell.
I ran out the door and the whole way to school. I walked in to the school and immediately walked to my locker. I put my bass guitar in it and took out all the books I won't need for my first class.
*After school*
I went to my locker and grabbed the things I would need to do my homework and then my bass guitar. I walked out of school and to the local music store.
I walked in and waved at the owner, "Afternoon Randy!"
"Afternoon Aries!" He waved back. "We got a new guitar in today. It's in the back if you wanna play it."
I walked past him, "Cool. I'll go check it out."
I walked in the back room and saw it in all its glory

I picked it up and plugged it into the amp in the back playing a few quick riffs.
"Wow" I mumbled to myself
Randy walked into the back, "like it kid?"
"Like it? This guitar? I love it! Great color! Good size! I would totally buy it! The only problem is the price. I mean $3k! I don't have that kind of money. But I will play it in the store!" I said excitedly.
"You can play it for as long as it's in the store." He smiled at the passion for music I expressed. "You should start a band."
I nodded, "I don't know, maybe." I got up putting the guitar down before going to my guitar and plugging it into an amp at the front of the store playing a few songs and some riffs.
Before to long I realized it was getting pretty late so I pack up my stuff and walked home.
When I walked in the house it was pitch black so I snuck up to my room and closed the door before turning on my light.
"Good evening little sis." Ben said scaring the shit out of me.
"What the fuck!" I jumped. "What the hell Benjamin!" I whisper yelled.
"Aries it's almost 11:30pm. Mom and dad are asleep. Why are you getting home so late?" Ben questioned.
"I was at school." I lied.
"For more than 8 hours?"
"Yes"
"Ya know Aries I don't believe that!"
"Why not Ben?! Because you think it's so hard for me a teenager to like school! Because you don't see me as the school type! Because you think because I don't bring people to the house that I don't have friends! I'm a teenager for Christ sake and yea sometimes I come home late but you don't live here anymore bud! You live in New York with your broadway buddies. YOU don't give a rats ass about the fact that I EXIST! And then...and then you have the AUDACITY to accuse me of lying about where I've been. YOU invade my personal space and call ME a liar?! Please get out of my room before I do something I'll regret Ben." I yell loud enough to not wake my parents but for him to get the picture.
Ben stood up and left. I flopped on my bed and sighed. Big brothers am I right. I closed my eyes. Tomorrow was a new day. I could skip school and just go. I could explore the town I grew up in. Take a guitar with me and just relax. I soon fell asleep to the silence of the house.
