A/N: The girls aren't Little Mix in this story. In this story they're just 4 regular people. I hope you enjoy. Anyway enough from me!
________________________________Jesy POV:
I'm sat on the couch trying to figure out my math homework. I never was good at math, or anything with numbers really!
Before I could even register what had happened I felt something hard shatter against the back of my head.
Warm, red blood dripped down my shoulder and hit my math paper. Being hit by my father wasn't a surprise, but getting hit for no reason has never happened before!
Staggering to my feet I yelled, "What the hell was that for. I didn't do anything!" I felt his sweaty palm connect with my face before I was staring at the carpeted floor.
"Because I hate coming home to you doing nothing but leaching off of me! You do nothing all day and then sit around here. That's why your mother left! She couldn't handle the pressure of raising a disappointment like you!"
His words stung, but they were true. She did leave me behind. No explanation, no contact information, no way out. As he walked away I couldn't move. I knew I had to leave soon. I was planning on leaving when I was 18, but after tonight, there's nothing holding me back. I've got no reason to stay.
I slowly dragged myself off the floor and made my way up the stairs to pack my bag. All I had was my toothbrush and a weeks worth of clothes stuffed into my backpack.
I snuck back downstairs to find my dad passed out on the couch, his usual resting place after releasing his anger on me. I grabbed as many crackers as my bag would hold and hoped they'd be enough until I found my next source of food.
I took one last look at the building that I could never call a home. All of the bad memories and spilt blood being left behind. I don't know if I'll ever see this place again, but I do know I won't be the girl that just walked out the door if I return.
~30 minute walk later~
I came across a food bank I didn't know existed. I'd finished my crackers long ago and to my disappointment they weren't enough to make a difference to my hunger.
Weighing my pros and cons soon hunger won the fight and I entered the worn down looking building.
Walking towards the smell of food and the sound of people talking I found myself in a pretty large room filled with tired looking people. Knowing my face would be bruised, I pulled up my hood and adjusted my backpack, making sure to keep it close.
I scanned the room and my eyes fell on a small girl who looked a little younger than me. She was surrounded by a few boys that seemed to be messing with her. I didn't want to get involved so I looked away, but I could still hear their conversation.
"Whatcha got there Jade?" I heard one of the boys ask. "You know whatever you have belongs to us right."
"It's nothing. You wouldn't want it." Her voice was so soft and shy. I wonder how such a small shy girl ended up in a place like this.
"Well then if it's nothing you wouldn't mind if I had a look would you!" I chanced a peek in their direction and saw him snatch something out of the small girl's hand.
"No! Give it back Korey! I need those!" She was on the verge of tears! Whatever the boy took seemed to be important to her.
"Why it's just a bunch of dumb photos! What do you need them for? I bet they're ugly just like you!" I couldn't take it anymore a walked over. I took the pictures from his hand and shoved him back taking him by surprise.
"She said give them back!" My voice came out more confident than I'd ever heard it before. Korey looked at me with surprise and then anger.
"Who do you think you are? This doesn't have anything to do with you!" he said taking a step closer to me. I didn't back down. I couldn't because I refused to be the girl who was constantly beat up and abused.
I took a step closer and gave him my best death glare. He seemed to take the hint and backed down. "Whatever. Your not worth my time!" He looked past me to the small girl I had shielded him from. "See you around Jade"
I turned to the girl behind me and handed her the pictures back. She never looked at me once, her eyes focused at the not so clean floor. "Are you ok?" I asked knowing how much words can hurt sometimes.
For the first time since I'd walked in she looked up. I stared into her light brown eyes and cold see the brokenness and pain behind them.
