POV: Rio

~That was incredible...truly amazing. It seemed like she didn't know how to control her evolution, but now...wow...just wow...~

The ground was still shaking and the building was still collapsing but all I could do was stare at her. I don't even know her but I want to.

I want to get to know her so bad. "WHAT THE HELL DID YOU JUST DO TO HER??!!"

I snap my head so quickly that I hit my cheekbone against the support of the hospital bed that I am still under. As soon as I regain focus I see what's going on,

~He's yelling at her again...does he think she hurt Ritsua?'I don't know what it was but something in me told to trust the mystery girl, no idea why me...or just why in general but I have to trust my gut ~

I finally had the courage to speak up, "Leave her alone, Magnus-" of course he interrupts me, "THE HELL DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?! RIO YOU SHOULD KNOW YOU'RE PLACE! UNLESS YOU FORGOT!"

~Shit, I thought, he could easily suspend or even~ my eyes widened, ~HE COULD EXPEL ME! He wouldn't expel me just because I'm trying to protect someone, right?~ As I'm thinking, I see movement from the corner of my right eye. ~MAGNUS!~

Lost in thought~
'I can't focus on anything or anyone else. She's pregnant and severely injured. UGH! Based on my scan, she has internal bleeding in the lower left region of her torso and three broken ribs'

I glance around looking for a wall clock, a watch, anything that can help me keep track of time.

'It-It's 4:30 in the morning?!' I look back at the pregnant lady, "What's your name?" I ask. She responds "R-Ritsua"

'Wow, it fits her perfectly. I can hear her thoughts 'It means Purity in Exlixsh' ' Wait she knows Exlixsh' I glance back at the clock, it reads 4:32, my hands still placed on her stomach. I focus all my attention to her, 'It doesn't matter what happens to me, Ritsua...she's remembering how excited she was when she found out she was pregnant. I have to help her'

I started to feel it, the sharp pain of my body transferring her injuries to me, the sound of my ribs breaking. All my energy going to her to protect her baby from the transfer. 'M-My main evo, Transfer' I tell her in her mind, 'It allows me to absorb injuries from a person to me or another, or transfer my injuries to someone else. I-' I took a deep breath even though it was painful to breathe from the injuries.

'I can also choose to absorb the evolution, or evolutions, of another to myself' I bow my head in disappointment, I don't want to see her reaction, 'I can only guess from past experiences that she's scared and I don't want to check her heart rate right now but-' ~sigh~ 'I'm gonna have to'

With my head bowed, I reach for her wrist to check her pulse '76 beats in that one minute, that's good.' I thought. I look over to see her breathing normally and she began to stand up. She wobbles back and forth a little but she easily balances herself, 'Ritsua...you and your baby will be just fine'

I placed my hands on my knees as I began to stand up, 'something feels wrong' I thought, my mind slipping from what I was going to say to everyone. As I reached my full height I started heading right back to the ground.

Bracing myself for the feeling of my body to hit the cold and broken floor, but it never happened. Instead I fell into a pair of warm arms, 'These feel so familiar but why?' I questioned in thought but as I tried to focus on their face...it all went black.
