.At the hospital, Amna and Aslam made their way to the ICU. The head nurse on duty did not allow them access at first because visiting hours were 3pm to 5pm but later allowed them for just 15 minutes.
They watched Munah from the glass opening on the door, as she lay on the reclined bed in a pale blue hospital dress with lines, tubes, wires and monitoring equipment at the bedside attached to different parts of her body.
Amna's lips trembled as she watched Munah- her chest heaved up and down as she took in breaths with the help of the ventilator, the monitor displaying her vitals and some tubes that give fluid and nutrients were also attached. She looked so pale and fragile.
"Bata tashi bah at all? - She hasn't woken up?" Amna asked.
He shook his head "Anyi hemodialysis dai earlier." He explained to her.
"Subhanallah! Allah ya bata lafiya -May Allah grant her quick recovery." she prayed.
"Amin." He answered and he held her hand as they walked out.

"Thank you very much, Nurse." He smiled and nodded at the nurse when they passed her on their way out.
In the car as they drove out of the hospital, Amna asked "Does Mami know?"
He shook his head.
"Babe...her condition is critical, I didn't know it was this bad, hadda hemodialysis fah, don't you think her parents need to know?"
"She has the worst relationship with Anty Kulu, she has never been the ideal daughter to Anty Kulu, always been a rebel.
Anty Kulu kuma is a socialite, so glamorous. She loves taking Munah along to show off her oldest daughter and wants her to befriend and associate only with a certain caliber of people but Munah hated it and they always fought about it. Munah only became very egotistical I believe when she started drugs, to feel good about herself.
Uncle Munir kuma has no time for his family, politics takes up all of his time. She has had a closer relationship with Mami than her mom when we were growing up.
I intend to tell Mami and I know she will let Baba know and that means su Anty Kulu will find out. I'll have to ask Mami to promise me it stays between me and her. Dole mu rufa mata asiri, Annabi SAW yace whoever conceals the faults of a Muslim, Allah will conceal their faults in this life and the Hereafter."
"SAW" She nodded. "That's true but just take some time and think about it, may Allah grant her a quick recovery."

After they got home, Aslam had a relaxing shower and met Amna downstairs, she served him dinner and they ate in silence.
After dinner they decided to retire to bed, it was just past 11pm. They laid silently in bed when Amna said "Baby..."
"Hmm..." he answered, he was quieter than usual.
"I'm sorry...I feel awful for what I did, I should've asked, I shouldn't have jumped into conclusions. I was supposed to be there for you, to have comforted you last night but I was foolishly crying in my room, thinking the worst of you." She began sobbing in her palms.
"Sshhhh, it's alright, ya wuce." He drew her closer to him and rubbed her back soothingly.
When her sobs died down, his body shook with laughter "You were crying? you said you had cramps, no?"
