mia played with her fingers nervously.

she looked up seeing dixie heading towards mia.

"hey mia!" dixie took a seat next to mia.

"hi dix." mia tried to not make eye contact.

dixie gulped trying to figure out what was wrong with mia.

the boys started shouting and walked outside with beers in their hands.

"shit." mia knew exactly what was going to happen.

dixie looked at mia and raised her eyebrows.

"c'mon mia just two drinks !" she pulled on mias arm.

mia moved her lips side to side.

"we only live once." she spoke standing up.

dixie squealed and grabbed mia's hand , and they headed towards the group of boys.

"white claw?" blake raised the can offering it to the girls.

"sure." mia grabbed it from blakes hand.

dixie cracked her's open taking sips.

"hand me the knife please." mia opened her hand smiling at bryce.

he furrowed his eyebrows and carefully placed it down in the girls hand.

mia thanked him then turning the bottle to it's side and stabbing the bottom while opening the top.

she began to chug ; the boys shouted hyping her up as she shotgun the alcohol drink.

dixie stood in amazement.

mia drank the last bit then pulled the can away from her mouth and using the back of her hand to wipe her mouth.

"that's what im talking about!" Blake shouted flexing his muscles.

vinnie walked out and kept his head low then approaching mia.

"can we talk ? please."

mia looked at the boys seeing bryce nodding his head.

"uh sure." she nodded and wiped her hands on her pants.

the two walked to the other side of the pool.

mia looked at vinnie then at the floor.

"yea?" she asked.

vinnie raised his eyebrows and took a deep breath.

"mia , i really am so sorry."

mia tilted her head.

"It's okay." She wanted the conversation to be over.

"Would you...ever take me back ?" He took a pause.

Mia took a deep breath and huffed.

"Vinnie , what you put me through was so hard to get over. I'm not gonna put myself through that again." She finally turned towards looking at him in the eyes.

"But Mia-"

"Friends. Vinnie we are friends." She cut him off then walking back to the group.

Josh made googley eyes at mia.
