Brett turned the corner and we both made eye contact, it was the first day at school when I realised that him of all people were here! He was my ex boyfriend yes EX! We didn't end a brilliant note let's say, however, I was willing to grit my teeth and bare it until the end of term.We parted ways in primary school as friends and started a serious relationship when we were 14. I dumped him after I found he was cheating on me with my best friend and well, I fell out with her too.
Your probably believing I'm some sort of drama queen and in fact your sort of right, but in not the sort of "pretty feel sorry for me"kinda girl. I'm probably a lot more bitchy and sarcastic.
I never imagined he would move to my school (Cheddar Hill secondary) but of corse there had to be a reason. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and checked my Facebook account when a familiar voice spoke to me. I looked up from my phone and there he was tall, dark and handsome but still a liar and a cheat.
"Oh hello come to find a new one of my bff's to cheat on me with?"
I turned back town to glare at the screen but his reflection made it impossible to forget he was there.
"Still as bitchy as ever then I see."
" why am I still involved in this conversation didn't I try to move away from you?"
"Yes but things happend."
"What things?" I asked finally looking interested in what he was saying.
" it doesn't matter, who's class are you in?"
"Mr mandarins."
" that's my new class."
I started scowling at the screen of my phone, as if it wasn't bad enough already he was in the same classes as me for almost everything.
The school bell rang at 8:45am as usual and soon a stampede of pupils barged through the corridors, I had a dog (also known as Brett) following my trail as if I had a treat. We finally reached the class room after what felt like an eternity and Mr mandarin finally met his new star pupil.
"Good morning everyone!"
"I would like you to meet our new classmate Brett Turpin, please make him feel welcome." Everyone looked glumly at sir after being spoken to like we were in year two. Mr mandarin had a way of making you feel like a toddler in his class even though we are in year 11.
Brett was placed in the desk next to me and kept staring at me continuously throughout the lesson, I tried to figure out a reason why he might be here but again my brain wasn't quite functioning properly on a Monday morning. When the lesson finished it was time for break, as usual I headed furthest away from everyone and put my headphones on full volume to try and block the sounds of annoying kids from my ears, as I have said before Brett cheated on me with my best friend however this time it would be more difficult. I still hadn't made a friend in this school even after at least six months here.
" Ain't you got no friends of your own?" Brett asked smirking.
"I haven't got time for friends I am getting set for my future career."
"What's that then Carrie"
"A famous author actually, but of course you wouldn't understand that because you brain seems to be non existent." I felt quite proud of that comment for about five seconds before Brett's new gang of BFF's (big fat friends) came over and surrounded me. I knew it wasn't long before Brett managed to find some sad people to be his henchmen, after all it wasn't like him to get his hands dirty.
"Dude! This is your ex! Wow you have low standards." Said one of his friends (I think his name was Harry)
"Thanks for that, and anyway HE was the one who asked me out."
Brett suddenly turned a bright shade of scarlet.
"Embarrassed are you Brett? Oh dear maybe you should have left me alone rather than becoming my boyfriend."
I put my headphones back over my ears and walked away from him, only to find my way back to class within five minutes. Walking through the corridors I had all of Brett's friends pulling faces and pushing into me if I didn't exist. For Brett's first day he did pretty good, he humiliated me, found new BFF's and also lost all hope of becoming a nicer person.
My first day of term was not really different than the other times I was there, people still ignored me, took the mick out of me and I also still had no friends.
