We kissed for what felt like years until Connor coughed. ‘Uh hum’ He said. We all giggled. ‘Gorgeous, I need a kiss’ I said to Amelia. She tried climbing onto my bed but she couldn’t; Josh picked her up and sat her next to me. He sat on the end of my bed near my toes, Connor sat in the seat next to my bed and the nurse left. ‘I will be back in a minute’ she said as she left.  Amelia kissed my cheek. ‘I love you’ She whispered to me. ‘I love you too’ I whispered back. ‘ Josh’ I said. Connor and Josh both looked at me. They were having a separate conversation.  ‘Yes, babe’ He said back. Shivers went down my spine. Ben used to call me babe. I felt sick. ‘Katie are you okay you have gone as white as a sheet? Connor take Amelia out of here Now!’ He said. As soon as they left the room I threw up everywhere. How did Josh know? After I stopped throwing up Josh started to clean up when a nurse with a cleaner came in and cleared it. We thanked them as they left. Josh sat next to me. I put my head on his shoulder. He had his arm around me. ‘Katie’ He said to me. I looked up at him. ‘Before you threw up, you were going to say something to me?! What was it babe?’ There it was again. The word. I was shaking now. I kept remembering all he had done to me. ‘Josh.’ I got out. ‘Katie are you okay? You seem to be shaking a lot?’ ‘No Josh! No! Please don’t call me babe again, it reminds me of-of –of’ I couldn’t get his name out. I didn’t want to. ‘Who Katie who?’ Josh replied. He looked worried. Then the doctor came in. ‘Hello Katie, It’s nice to meet you I am Doctor Frasier.’ He put his hand out for me to shake it, which I did. ‘I have come to tell you what is wrong with you, how fast you will recover and that sort of stuff.’ He said. ‘Well Katie, at first you didn’t respond well to the operation we gave you on your rib. You do know what happened don’t you?’ He asked. I nodded. ‘Good. You lost a lot of blood and you were very weak. We managed to get the bullet out but you still wouldn’t stop bleeding. We gave you 5 blood transfusions as you lost so much blood.  That still didn’t work, the blood still continued to pour out. Finally we were able to stich up your rib and stop the bleeding internally. The bullet in your thigh came out straight away.’ I didn’t know what to say or do. ‘You also when into a state of shock where you were paralysed and were screaming.’ I was so embarrassed.  ‘And we found out something very interesting while running tests and operating on you.’ He said. I looked at Josh. ‘Katie would you like to hear this alone or with Mr Hutcherson present?’ He asked me. ‘Of course I want Josh in the room. Why wouldn’t I?’ I replied. ‘Well I just didn’t know if you wanted him to find out this way presuming it’s his?’ We looked at each other. ‘What?!’ Josh said. There was a long pause. I could see Doctor Frasier trying to figure out how he was going to say it.‘Katie, urm, you’re pregnant’ I screamed.
