It's New Years Eve today. Fingers crossed the new year is going to be somewhat better. Let's hope.
The arms of my boyfriend were wrapped around my waist when I woke up. He was comfy. "Morning." He mumbled kissing my shoulder. "Morning." I replied looking back seeing Jeff with his eyes still closed. I smiled. We got up out of bed and ready for the day then we just chilled for a bit really.
I was stood up in the middle of the room scrolling through my phone when a pair of arms wrapped around my waist. "What you doing baby?" Jeff whispered. "Nothing much just scrolling through." I told him. I felt him smile against my skin. "Let's take a photo." I suggested clicking on the camera app. We stood a few pictures. I turned around in his arms looking in his eyes. "Thanks for making 2020 better for me." I mumbled. "Thank you." He replied with a smile. "I couldn't of done it without you." He added pressing his lips to mine. We pulled away resting our foreheads together.
Time for some cleaning. Jeff sat on the sofa while I clean around a bit. Yes he did help but I'm just finishing off some things. He's NOT lazy. "It's crazy how tomorrow is a new year." I said as I cleaned up my mess. "It is. It's also gone by fast." Jethro said. "True that." I smiled over at him.
Jethro's POV:
Time was flying by. We wanted to stay up until the new year started. Well I made sure we did anyways. "Jeff you coming?" Y/n asked as she stood by the door. "I'll be right out. You can go out and wait. I have to do something quickly." I told her. She smiled nodding her head. I smiled as she walked outside. I walked into the bedroom going through the draw and pulling out the small box. I made my way outside about 5 minutes before the new year.
My nerves kicked in and I began to tap my foot on the floor as I held y/n in my arms. "You ok Jeff?" Y/n asked looking up at me. "Yeah all good. Just thinking of the new things were going to get up to in 2021." I smiled making her smile. "I love you." She said. I kissed the top of her head. "I love you too." I mumbled holding her closer.
Your POV:
The time read 11:58pm. So soon. Jeff let go of me and we stood by one another.
11:59...
Jethro was acting differently. "Y/n? Y/n?" He said grabbing my attention. I looked down at Jethro who was down on one knee. "I know this year has been the worst but I want to make the new year better. I love you so much y/n, will you marry me?" He asked opening a small box showing a beautiful ring inside. I smiled. "Yes. Yes. Yes." I said making him place the ring on my finger. He stood up placing his lips on mine. The fireworks began to go off. We pulled away. "HAPPY NEW YEAR!" We both exclaimed. The best start to the new year.
