???'s P.O.V.
"Are you the Magician?"
When Valt asked that, I was shocked. Then I nodded. "Yes."
"Who did you bring back to life last night?" Valt asked curiously. I paused, then answered him. "Ren Wu." "Why?" I shrugged. "I just thought that a martial arts person would be helpful. And I thought he was the Protector." Valt's face creased with surprise, but he forced a smile.
"How did you do it?" "Um..." I was feeling awkward now. This part of the story was. "I was led to his ghost. I don't think he saw me, but I touched him. He began to solidify—" "What does that mean?" Valt interrupted. I laughed. "Become solid. Then, he disappeared."
Valt nodded. "Thanks. But what about Ukyo? Who brought him back to life?" "The other Magician," I answered. "Who?" I turned on my phone and messaged the other Magician. I got a message back saying I couldn't tell Valt.
"Can't tell you. He wants me to keep it a secret." Valt shrugged. "It's all good."

Server: No one was voted out this round!
Xander: Remember, we can't afford to lose anyone.
Wakiya: Who voted for me???
Shu: It was me.
Wakiya: WHAT? You don't trust me?
Honcho: Why don't you guys argue irl?
Shu: Because it would be too loud.
Ken: He's got a point.
Wakiya: Why did you vote me?
Shu: You were angry at Valt when he pushed me to win the maze. And next thing you know, Valt was attacked. It's probably not a coincidence.
Valt: But it can't be Wakiya! He'd never kill people!
Honcho: Are you sure?
Wakiya: He's right, for once. Valt, I mean.
Daigo: Guys, just stop arguing.
Shu: I guess.
Ukyo: Hey, Ren Wu, weren't you going to say something about who killed you?
Ren Wu: ...
Ren Wu: Yes.
Ren Wu: If you guys forgot, the Assassin.
Valt: Who?
Ren Wu: One of the dead.
Valt: But they've been eliminated! There's no way they killed you!
Ken: Talk irl please.
Shu: No.
Shu: There's proof this way.
Honcho: Which one of the dead?
Ren Wu: Lui or Free. Or Clio.
Valt: Free would never do that! And Clio is a little scary, but he's Cuza's friend!
Shu: Lui then.
Valt: Shu! What are you talking about?
Shu: Whatever. It was nothing.
Wakiya: And Valt is too trusting anyway.
Ren Wu: Guys, listen.
Ren Wu: The rules said to eliminate the Assassin.
Ren Wu: But they never said if the Assassin could attack from the dead.
Ken: But if the Assassin's eliminated the game is over.
Ren Wu: Who said there was only one Assassin?
Ukyo: Nobody.
Xander: You mean we may have only eliminated one?
Daigo: Why do you think it was one of the dead?
Ren Wu: Ukyo told me something that helped the idea along. Ukyo, tell them.
Ukyo: When I arrived at the ghost main room, I saw Cuza, Ren Wu, and Yugo waiting for me. But Clio wasn't there. I assumed both Free and Lui weren't there because Free was doing something else, maybe sleeping, and Lui didn't want to be there. But Clio appeared seconds later.
Ren Wu: And right before I really died, I saw a ghostly figure at the edge of my vision. They were shooting a dart at me, and moments later I died.
Ren Wu: Then when I became a ghost, they flickered and disappeared.
Ken: So you're saying...
Ukyo: There are at least two Assassins and two Accomplices.
Honcho: Why two Accomplices?
Ren Wu: Each Assassin must have one Accomplice each.
Daigo: I guess that does make sense.
Shu: Guys, the game is starting.
The room disappeared again, replaced by a dirt track that went on into the distance. There appeared to be an ending to it deep into the woods. Words flashed in front of me.
Make it to the end! Those who don't will be eliminated! The first one there will gain immunity!
Good luck!
I was in the middle as people stormed towards the end. Ukyo, Ren Wu, and Xander were up ahead. Honcho and Ken were behind me, while Daigo, Wakiya, and Shu were in front.
Unfortunately, Honcho and Ken had already stormed past me. Shu was dropping behind. His face was beaded with sweat and there was still dried blood on his face. "Are you okay?" We hadn't gone far enough that he would be tired so quickly.
Shu briefly shut his eyes. "Fine," he panted.
I touched his hand. It was freezing. "Take a break," I told him. "No!" Shu protested. But as he said that, pain sparked in his eyes. Shu ran past me, stumbling and wheezing, until he collapsed.
Valt's P.O.V. (Third person limited)
Valt stumbled along the track, panting. Shu was lying ahead of him, eyes closed. No! But... I can't help him, or we'll both be eliminated! Tears streamed down his face. What should I do?
Help him!
Valt bent by his best friend. "You can't be eliminated... right? Immunity from the maze." "I don't think it works like that here..." Shu answered weakly, his eyes flickering open. "I just couldn't lose. But injuries happen..."
"Shu..." He was beginning to fade, his crimson eyes sliding shut. He gave Valt a reassuring smile.
The last one Valt would ever see.
