This should work, right? It has to, Xue Yang thought to himself as he took his new talisman out. He had been working on it for almost a month after Xingchen's death, and he can say that it looks pretty good.
He let the talisman do it's job and closed his eyes. He opened them after a moment and saw that he was in near a cave, "The fuck?" He murmured.
Xue Yang looked around and saw a man, fanning a fire. His eyes widened as he froze and whispered beneath his breath, "Xingchen?"
The man had his hair braided on the sides up to form a ponytail. Xue Yang walked up to him, "What are you doing?"
Xingchen jumped, "Ah!" He looked up and saw Xue Yang, then immediately bowed his head, "I apologize Young Master."
"Why are you apologizing?" Xue Yang asked. He squatted down next to Xingchen who moved back a bit.
"I shouldn't have been too loud," Xingchen said, "I apologize. It won't happen again."
"Fine," Xue Yang smiled, "but I have a question. Do you know who I am?"
"No," Xingchen replied shyly, "I know that you are a Young Master but I do not know which one. You look like you come from a major clan."
"I'm not a young master, nor am I from a major clan," Xue Yang said quietly, "I am Xue Yang. I used to be from the Jin Clan of Lanling before I was kicked out."
"Why?" Xingchen asked, looking around to see if anyone was watching them.
"Because I brought trouble," Xue Yang shrugged with a smirk, "I had fun though."
"What did you do after?" Xingchen asked.
"I met the you in the future," Xue Yang said honestly. "A lot of people wanted to kill me so I ran away, you found me and cured me. I lived with you for three years before someone came and told you the truth."
"Which was what?" Xingchen asked softly:
"That I was the person who blinded your best friend and killed his entire clan, along with many more," Xue Yang said, his eyes filled with his usual craziness.
"You killed people?" Xingchen asked, raising his voice.
"Yes, but keep it down will you?" Xue Yang clicked his tongue. He gazed at Xingchen with sharp eyes before reaching a hand out and touched the man's lips with his thumb. "Such a shame that you died."
"I-I died?" Xingchen asked, his eyes wide.
"Killed yourself," Xue Yang replied nonchalantly. He slipped his thumb between he man's lips and said, "Now I want you to obey me or else I will be the one killing you. We don't want that now do we?"
"N-no sir," Xingchen whispered.
"Then go find you a sword and come behind the cave," Xue Yang ordered. He moved his hand back and walked away. He went behind the cave and walked a bit farther back, until he reached a stream.
He waited and looked around. The trees were tall and provided shade from the blazing sun and the wind brushed past him.
The stream was flowing quickly and he could see a couple of fishes inside. He sat down on the grass and waited for a while before hearing footsteps.
Xue Yang looked up and saw Xingchen walking towards him with a black sword. It isn't his, Xue Yang noticed. "Xingchen, hurry."
"Yes sir!" Xingchen immediately picked up his pace. He stood in front of Xue Yang and looked down, "What do you want me to do?"
"Fight me," Xue Yang said. He took his own sword out and drew it from the sheathe, before pointing it at Xingchen.
"B-but Grand Master sai-"
"I don't care what your Grand Master said," Xue Yang said sternly, "I want you to fight me or else I'll kill you. Understood?"
"Understood," Xingchen whispered and drew his sword. He attacked Xue Yang softly who blocked.
"Come on, you can do better than that can't you?" Xue Yang taunted, "Or did your master not teach you anything but how to crush herbs and make a fire?"
"You-!" Xingchen's eyes blazed with anger. He attacked again, but with much more force than before. Xue Yang smirked and fought back. This was the type of fighting he knew and loved.
Xue Yang put the tip of his sword to Xingchen's neck, "Better. Although, you could work on your stamina a bit. I can help with that in many ways if you'd like?"
"Yes please!" Xingchen beamed and Xue Yang felt the blood rush to his cheeks.
"Then fight me again, but this time add a little spice to it," Xue Yang said. Xingchen nodded and raised his sword before attacking with a spin.
Xue Yang didn't see this coming. He stumbled back a bit but regain his posture quickly. He attacked and Xingchen blocked skillfully.
The two fought for a while before Xingchen stopped and bent over, panting heavily. "I'm ha done."
Xue Yang clicked his tongue in annoyance, "You need to be in better shape," he said, "I might have to make you do a few exercises."
"Please don't," Xingchen whined. He fell to the ground and took a deep breath, "I'll do anything but that."
"Then," Xue Yang got down and grabbed Xingchen's chin roughly, "do something else that will help. Maybe go for a run every day, or do something with me."
"I-I'll go for a r-run," Xingchen laughed nervously.
"You also need to change your attitude," Xue Yang murmured.
"How so?" Xingchen asked.
"You're a bit naive and childish," Xue Yang replied, "I can take you out for a few kills I guess."
"What?!" Xingchen's eyes widened, "What kills?!"
"I don't know," Xue Yang shrugged, "just someone I kill."
"Why do you kill people?" Xingchen asked, his face suddenly grave and serious.
"Because," Xue Yang replied, "it's fun."
"How is killing fun?" Xingchen asked.
"It just is," Xue Yang giggled, "I really have to take you out soon."
"No thanks," Xingchen shivered, "I'll just stick with master's teachings."
"What if I say no?" Xue Yang asked, his face close to the man's.
"Th-then...I'll fight you!" Xingchen backed away.
"Really? Then do it, do it now."
Xingchen hesitated and let out a small gasp when Xue Yang grabbed the back of his head and pushed their faces together.
