Water.

That was all I felt. My hands, pressing against the glass. Every time I would scream, water would fill my lungs. It's been hours, and I'm still alive. It hurts so much. People with lab coats have been watching me, taking notes, speaking to each other. Every now and then, they'd look back at me before looking at each other, or back to their notes.

A couple times, I would see a boy, he had brunette hair, and chocolate brown eyes. And then there would be a girl sometimes. She'd look at me with a sympathetic look. And I had no idea why. It was like this for hours, till all the lights turned. And in that moment, my eyes rolled to the back of my head, and I lost consciousness.

Next thing that happened was weird. I was heard gears, I smelt metal. All of a sudden, I woke up, gasping heavily and coughing up water. It was dark, really dark. There were boxes in this cage. I noticed, I was moving. The cage I was in, was going up, in a fast pace. My heart was beating so fast. I then realized, I can't remember anything. My family, my friends,

My name.

Oh god, my name. Why can't I remember my name?!

I started hyperventilating. The cage I'm in started going faster, still moving upwards. Red lights were all around me. I tried standing up, "HELP!" I screamed, banging on the top of the cage. Suddenly, the cage came to a stop, making me fall back down. The red lights, now green. For a few moments, it was pitch black. The only thing I could hear, was my heavy breathing, and the animals in the little cages. Then, came a bright light, making my eyes squint and put my hand to my face, covering them. I heard whispers all around me, I didn't know what they were saying, and I didn't care. Once I got adjusted better with the light, I removed my hands from my eyes, blinking a couple times, till I see I'm surrounded by boys.

No girls, all boys.

"It's a girl?" One of the boys whispered, but it came out more as a question. I started hyperventilating. I was in a cage, surrounded by boys that could do anything to me, and I was the only girl. I guess one of the boys noticed, and jumped down into the cage, and started slowly walking towards me, his hands up to show he meant no harm, "It's alright greenie, we're not gonna hurt you." He said with a weird accent. I looked up at him, studying his features. He had short blonde hair, he was pretty tall and slim, but he looked strong, I could see his muscles under his white hoodie. He looked really familiar, like I've seen him before, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

He slowly knelt down to put level on the ground, and put a hand on my shoulder. I looked back up at his face, seeing him smile slightly at me. I tried smiling back, but I didn't, I couldn't, I had no idea who he was, or who I am, or even where I was. "Where am I? Who are you? Who am I?" I started questioning. He sighed, "I'll explain it all later greenie, alright?" I only nodded, I needed to know what was going on, "Now, will you please come out with me?" I nodded again. He smiled at me again, before standing up, getting out of the cage and then helping me up. I was hesitant to take his hand, but I did. When I got up, I was met with so many faces of boys, they just kept staring at me, making me cower slightly. The blonde boy noticed, but before he could say anything, someone else did, "Alright you shanks, stop staring at the greenie and get back to work." He shouted, making all the boys stop looking at me and leave. Thank god.

I looked around the mysterious place I was in, it looked nice, but then I realized,

We were surrounded by walls.

Why were there walls?

I then felt a hand on my shoulder, making me jump and turn back around, to still see the tall blonde boy right there, smiling at me, and another boy, he was shorter than the one beside him, and he had darker skin. He was probably the one telling all the other boys to leave. He looked intimidating. Must be the leader or something. He smiled at me, his hand still on my shoulder, "Welcome to the glade greenie, I'm Alby," he motioned to the blonde boy beside him, "This is Newt." Newt smiled at me again and nodded, I nodded back, still keeping a blank face. "Do you remember anything? Your name, anything at all?" He asked me. I shook my head no, making him nod, "That's alright, you'll get your name back in a day or two. It's the only thing they let us keep." He reassures me.

That had gotten my attention, "They?" I questioned. Alby and Newt looked at each other, having a silent conversation before Newt turned to me, putting a hand on my shoulder, "Alright greenie, why don't I give you a tour of the glade." He suggested. I still just looked at him with a blank face, not knowing what else to say. He somewhat dragged me away, showing me around the place they called the 'glade'.

It was getting close to night time, Newt had finished showing me around the glade, I got a hammock made for me. Newt had said there was gonna be a bonfire tonight. He said they always have one to celebrate a new greenie, I just nodded. Right now, they had set up the bonfire, now lighting it up. I was sitting a little farther away, just watching them. I couldn't really take my eyes off of Newt.

He looked so familiar.

And I also realized, that the one called Gally, looks familiar as well. Did I know them before this? Once they had the fire lit up, I had seen Newt look around, probably looking for me. We soon met each other's eyes, he smiled at me before walking towards me. I noticed he had a limp. Wonder what happened. He sat down beside me on the log, "How has your first day been so far greenie?" He asked, taking a sip of some liquid. I just shrugged, not wanting to talk. "You're really quiet, you know that?" I nodded, making him sigh, "You know greenie, you're gonna have to talk. This is your home now, you can trust me." He said softly, making me feel bad now. I took a deep breath before talking, "My day was good, I guess." I told him. This made him smile brightly at me.

Did it really make him that happy that I just said one sentence?

It seems it did.

"So, do you remember your name yet?" He asks, drinking the glass of liquid. I shook my head no, "Sorry." I muttered. He put a hand on shoulder, "It's not your fault greenie. You'll get it back soon." He reassured, making me nod, smiling slightly.

We talked for a little while, till we got interrupted by someone, "What about you greenie? Wanna go for a round?" I turned my head to where the voice came from, to see Gally looking at me, waiting for me to answer. All night he had been fighting boys in that little circle, I've looked a couple times, and it seemed every time, he always won. I shrugged, going to stand up, till Newt put a hand on my shoulder, making me stay still and turn to him, "You don't have to, you know?" I shrugged again, "It's okay." I reassured him, standing up, making his hand leave my shoulder.

I walked up to the circle, getting into the stance, making Gally do the same. All of a sudden, he ran at me. I moved to the side, making him fall to the ground. The crowd around us all cheered. Gally got up, getting into the stance again. This time, I ran at him, he did the same trick and moved to the side, but I was smarter and kicked him in the shin, making him fall a little, then I kicked him out of the circle. All the boys cheered for me, while I was breathing heavily. I met Newt's eyes, he was clapping for me while grinning at me, I smiled back, making his grin bigger.

Suddenly, something hit me. I don't know what it was but, I remembered my name. Y/n. Y/n was my name.

"Y/n" I muttered, when the cheering stopped. "What was that greenie?" Gally asked. "Y/n," I said louder, "I remember my name! It's Y/n!" I said to the boys. Then, they all started cheering for me, chanting my name. They all came to me, congratulating me for remembering, while I smiled brightly.
