"Your problem is that your heart is too big, it leaves you vulnerable and makes you weak." He spoke in such certainty that it brought tears to my eyes, because it was the truth. I was vulnerable and delicate, I was weak and let my guard down too much. "You put your heart on your sleeve. You are oblivious to evil and peoples capabilities because you cannot imagine a person like that, you are blinded by your good nature." "What about yours?" I asked hesitantly, trying to keep the shake out of my voice. He looked at me with confusion for a second so I continued, "What about your heart?" I questioned. He looked at me with his dark eyes, his stare like stone. "I haven't got one." ******* Angela and Adriano are like fire and ice, they are complete opposites. But what happens when Angela gets thrown into Adriano's dangerous lifestyle? Can Adriano protect her from the evils he faces every day? You must read Book One - Silence in New York to understand the story as it is a direct continuation. _______________✏ "Let's get this straight," the officer took a deep breath trying with every fibre in his body to contain his excitement. This wasn't the first time, no. This had happened many times and once push came to shove, he found most people were all talk. Especially women. They were always all talk. He glanced back behind him, the FBI agent casually leaning against the wall under the camera with one leg bent, his shoe placed flush against the wall with both hands in his pocket. Waiting. Patiently waiting for the officer to get down to business. "You're willing to testify to these accounts?" She licked her coral painted lips nervously. For a brief moment she thought of Salvatore and everything he had done for her. All the things he had promised her. All the moments they shared together. her eyes travelling from the officer, to the FBI agent and then to up to the camera. "Yes. I'll do whatever you need me to do." _______________✏

----- In serious need of revision! ----- Wanna-be journalist Kate Santoro would do anything for the scoop. Anything. Including finding her way into an underground club exclusive to only those in the Genovese mafia and the beautiful women they employee. What could be more perfect? She would stick to the shadows, snap a few videos, and write the biggest story New York has ever seen, therein making her a legend! Easy as pie. Until she gets found. A series of blatant lies and lucky breaks later and she is mistaken to be one of the workers underneath. While many might be terrified of this predicament Kate couldn't be more excited. The freedom to roam the area and talk to the members of the infamous brotherhood will leave no rock unturned. All she has to do is keep her cover until the night is over and the workers go home. What a fantastic position she is in! There are just two problems. One being him. Alessio. The Don, the Godfather, the Capo di tutti capi (the boss of bosses) who has taken a keen interest in Kate. Even that is something she could probably handle for one night. Except problem number two. They don't leave. Not at the end of the night, the end of the week, or even the end of the month. Alessio's interest in Kate threatens to expose her, something she would surely die from. He knows she doesn't belong but it's not as though she could have just waltzed in, right? By the time Kate realizes that not even the greatest scoop is worth the price, she is in far too deep to call it quits now. ~~~Praise for When The Sun Goes Down~~~ Natasha427: "It was so captivating that I may or may not have spent the last several hours holed up in my room frantically scrolling down to read more. #DarmetirSeries BOOK II (Can be read separately) *** "Smartass." I comment. "Uptight bitch." He snaps. "Get a new one, asshole. It's getting old." I sneer back. "How about-" "Stop! The both of you. Jesus, people will never think that you're dating, if you keep that up." I roll my eyes at Heidi. Maybe I shouldn't have accepted the deal. It's a lot harder than expected. Anyways, my name is Gabriella Duncan and this is my life right now. It's not that bad, I know. If there wasn't this specific football player, who, for the public eye, is my boyfriend. And well, as you may noticed, we're not too fond of each other. Ugh, just bear with me for a while...

Lilah James has never had any troubles with getting into a club, even though she was not 'of age' yet. Still, no bodyguard ever demanded to see her ID. That all seemed to change when a handsome, tall and not to forget tattooed-to-his-neck bodyguard came in the game. Before she knew it, he had denied her entrance to the city's local club. She was beyond embarrassed, but over all angry at him. He was just doing his job, she knew. Yet she couldn't shake off the feeling that there was more behind it. Especially after seeing him let teenagers in. He didn't ask for their ID's, but Lilah could swear they looked like ten! She's never met him before and really wasn't planning on getting to know that handsome, ink covered devil. But after she discovered what he did when he wasn't guarding the club, she knew she would never hear the end of it. Especially because of her brother's interest in fights and his unmistakable admiration for one specific fighter: Prince Charmink. »»» "Jason." I hissed at my brother. "What?" He asked absentmindedly. "That's him." I whispered, eyeing the three men in the cage. Prince Charming stood tall and proud with a knowing smirk on his face. "Yes, I know. He's my favourite too." He informed me and I scoffed. "No, you dumbass. He's the bodyguard I was talking about." I snapped at Jason and his eyes widened. "You mean he was the one who didn't let you in?" He almost stuttered. "Yes." I nodded and looked back at the man who hadn't left my mind in a week. I could feel my anger rising again as I glared at his smug facial expression. As if sensing my eyes on him, his confident look faltered and it got replaced by a surprised one as his eyes settled on me. My eyes widened and I looked away. Jason's breath hitched. "He's glaring at you." He whispered and then he gulped. "Now he's glaring at me."

*COMPLETED* "You think I'd murder you?" He laughed humorlessly. "I- what?" I stuttered, looking at him with a lost expression. If he didn't want to kill me, what was all of this then? "What's your name, speedy?" He asked after shaking his head. "Why would I-I tell you my name?" I tried to sound brave, but this whole scenario was just freaking me out. "I'll find out, eh?" He gave me a smirk. What? "For what? You can just kill me now. I don't want to live like this anymore." I breathed out. I really don't. His loud and obnoxious laugh pulled me out of my thoughts. What's so funny? "You're funny. But-" He took a step closer and I immediately stepped backwards. "-the stunt you pulled last week-" My back hit the wall and I gasped as he stood only a few inches away from me now. His finger lifted my chin and I gulped. "-was not." His smirk was replaced by a serious expression. His eyes were so dark and captivating, I couldn't look away. "And you know what they say, speedy?" He continued as his eyes flickered towards my mouth. I shook my head and his smirk was back. "Keep your friends close. But-" He clenched his jaw. "Keep your enemies closer."
