"Your hands are scarred from murder, and yet, I trust them completely." Her words ended and she stopped breathing. The red haired girl I had come to love, too late, was gone. As I took the dead spider into my arms, I heard the sound barrier break. Looking up, I saw the S.H.I.E.L.D hella-carrier prepare for landing in the field stained red with the blood of my beloved. I bent over and her body and started to sing the song she used to sing to her brother. The crunch was so deafening in the silence as Nick Fury stepped on my Winter Soldier mask. He didn't look very happy and neither did the two dozen men surrounding me with blasters trained at my head. Fury made one swift movement with his hand and two men strapped handcuffs to me and lifted me to my feet. As they led me to their flying prison, I turned around and whispered one last thing to her, "Mne zhal..." I'm sorry. ~~~~ Agent Natasha Romanoff and James (Bucky) Barnes are rewritten into a romantic action set after Captain America Civil War. This is one of the ways the story could have gone if Bucky had been blamed for the assassination of the king of Wakanda.

This is a sequel to Red Winter. I didn't plan on writing a sequel but here it is! Again, the events transpire in a timeline where they've restored everything after defeating Thanos and reversing the effects of the snap. This is focused on Natasha, Bucky and Steve only. I have always appreciated the dynamics of Steve and Natasha's relationship even if there is no romance in it. And I often wonder how Natasha and Bucky would interact in the present considering their past. Again, I don't own Marvel and any of its characters. Just like you I daydream what happens between the fades in and fades out, between the end of the movie, its mid-credits scene and end-credit scene. And this is the result, one of the results. I hope you enjoy and do leave a comment or vote :) Thanks!

It's been almost two years since the defeat of Thanos & the effects of the snap was successfully reversed. The world has slowly picked up the pieces & everyone worked hard to resume their lives right off where the Decimation left them hanging. Some succeeded, as easily as pressing the play button after putting a movie on a long pause, while some were never the same again despite regaining everything and everyone they have lost. The Avengers were the lucky ones. Lucky enough to go back to their normal or fortunate enough to be given a fresh start. Tony & Pepper got married & jetted off in a private island to finally start their long overdue family life. Sam moved back to D.C & resumed his work at the VA. Rhodey continued working as a military consultant & Wakanda has never been more occupied as it became the number one tourist spot in less then a year. Clint went back to retirement tugging Wanda along with him to his farm where Laura welcomed her with open arms. Thor & Bruce were off-planet helping the remaining Asgardians settle on a new home. Fury rebuilt his super spy network with Maria overseeing operations at the Avengers Facility, recruiting, training a new breed of response team. And Steve finally got Bucky back & they have spent the past year back in Brooklyn, traveling the world once in a while & even participating in USO tours and fairs. Everyone tried to move on and rightly so because at the end of the day, that's pretty much what's expected of everyone after any tragedy. Natasha, too has moved on. The only problem is, she chose to move on alone. * I don't own any of these characters or wish to infringe on any copy or intellectual rights. I'm just someone who has a deep love for the MCU that I can't help but try to keep the story going, keep these characters alive in more adventures, especially with 'endgame' hovering, looming over us.*

As his dreams start reveal more detail, Bucky thinks he recognizes someone he's just getting to know now. Is it actually a memory or is he is trying to put together something that was never there?
