Yvanna Abigail Wayland is the younger twin sister of the notorious Jace Wayland. She is more of a rule follower than her rule breaker brother. When she and her brother arrived at the New York Institute after their father's death, she knew she was in for a change - a huge one - but she knew she had her brother with her no matter what. That day, she met the eldest Lightwood son - Alexander "Alec" Gideon Lightwood. It's been ten years, those years were full of fights, of being together and of fighting side-by-side. Everything was going well, that's what she thought until Clary Fray entered the picture. The life Yvanna imagined started to crumble; relationships wrecked and quarrels became more heated between family members, especially hers, all because of the red-head girl. Will love soar over their heads or pierce their hearts as precise as an arrow? For Yvanna, love was like an arrow; fast but accurate knowing it would land on bull's eye but before being an expert in archery there are challenges to be faced. Challenges that demand sacrifice and sacrifice for a Shadowhunter is a relatively normal term. Will there be conflicts or will their promise to each other crumble into dust? When someone comes and wrecks their slowly destroyed lives, will everything be the same again or will this be the glue that binds them together as one? Can love defeat all these challenges the inseparable four will face? Shadowhunters love fiercely and when that's gone, they feel hollow inside which could lead to their downfall. The twins have a saying about love; "To love is to destroy and that to be loved is to be the one destroyed." Can they prove that what their father said is true or will this be the foundation that proves that all love is not perfect? Can love soar through all these conflicts? Can everything go back to the way it was or will they suffer the consequences of it?

Sophia Carstairs, the younger twin sister of James Carstairs. She was at the Shanghai Institute when it was attacked by a Greater Demon. It took to torturing the twins in front of their parents until their mother and father were killed. Other Shadowhunters arrived and saved them, but the damage was done. James was afflicted with an addiction to yin fen, while his sister was made mute. After the killing at the Shanghai Institute, James and Sophia arrive at the London Institute to the warm welcome of Charlotte Fairchild, and soon to be Branwell, and her fiancé Henry Branwell. The only other children at the institute is Jessamine Lovelace, a rather sour young girl obsessed with looks, and Will Herondale, the distant boy who seems to dislike everyone. Will and James soon become close friends and parabatai. Sophia ignores the girlish ideas of Jessamine and fills her days spending time with her brother and the young man she fancies. She is looked down upon because she refuses to conform to the idea that society has put upon females. When Theresa Gray enters their lives, Sophia is soon to find out that her life could be so much worse than what it was already. Author's Note: This story is dedicated to my little sister, Sophia. Sophia, if you are reading this, it means that you finally followed my footsteps and became a recluse like me and spend almost all your time on this god-forsaken website. It may seem like I hate you sometimes, but I don't really.

"I burned my soul when I first found it, I watched as it went up in flames." "Whenever thoughts were hammering in Amelia's head, she could rely on the steady flow of ink coming from her pen, transforming her thoughts into rhymes and similes, alliteration and metaphors. She looked down at the parchment, and the poem scribbled on it. It was stained with the tears she had yet to shed. It was a look into Amelia's soul, all of her thoughts and emotions boiled down into a couple stanzas." "Perhaps it is our imperfections that make us so perfect for one another." Jane Austen ________________ "Gray," she said, her lavender eyes flickering over the boy in front of her in a mixture of disbelief and awe. "Elise Gray." Up until that very moment she hadn't been sure the statements about the Shadowhunters being half-Angel were real. But then her gaze had fallen upon him and the instant her eyes had taken in the tall and slender boy with the tousled brown hair, bright green eyes, and sharp and angular features, she knew the rumors were true. For this boy was beautiful. A child of the angel. And Elise was absolutely mesmerized. "Lightwood," the boy muttered, his voice softer than when he had been talking to the others and his green eyes staring back at her curiously. " It's not the shadows that scare me at night, Mr. Herondale, nor is it your seraph blade - which, may I remind you, I have seen before. It's the creatures that lurk within them. One of them just so happens to be your scrawny ass " --- Arabella Eleanor Carstairs, sister to the shadow hunter Jem Carstairs, has grown up surrounded by monsters that lurk in the night. Her eyes have seen pits of unmoving bodies, the deaths of the people she has loved close to her, and the screams of the innocent. Little does she know that more than death could rip her soul apart. --- " Arabella is terrified now, hands clawing at the concrete walls that surround her. Somewhere in the distance she can hear the cackle of a being, and the scuttle of a vile vermin across the floor. All the lessons she had with her brother and father somehow seemed to melt from her mind like sweet nothings. Reverting her back to the small defenseless little girl. ' I'm not afraid. I'm not afraid, ' Arabella whispers to herself, sliding her hand down the wall slathered with something slick and wet. Looking down at her hands, she squinted to get a better look at the substance. Horror masking across her face as she bit her busted lip to keep from screaming. Blood. "
