While all of this is happening, Zeus has arranged a marriage alliance with the Norse to smooth things over. So as the three children of the Big Three leave camp half-blood they return to Percy's apartment. When they arrive there they see something they wish they did not, Sally and Paul dead, brutally murdered. If Thalia and Nico weren't there to comfort Percy who knows what would happen?
