Gon constantly wonders the woods by his house on Whale Island. The older he gets, the farther he travels in, and one day, he stumbles onto something he knows shouldn't be that so deep in the forest - ripped children's clothes. His curiosity eventually gets the better of him and he travels deeper and deeper to where he shouldn't be. And there he sees him. ~ Suggestion from @NatsuMalo, who also contributed to much of the brainstorming and plot ideas~

Is it possible to be friends with, or even have romantic interests, in someone if you're their imaginary friend? There exists a society of imaginary people, known as imaginary friends. Assigned to children at young ages, they live for as long as they are remembered by the child, which usually lasts for six years. The exception to this rule is Killua, the imaginary friend to Gon. Having lived for years past the average, he has to face some things that other figments would never have to; be offered something that both he and Gon never thought would be possible. (Based off of a prompt I saw about being reincarnated as child's imaginary friend and gave it my own spin) (Short story, gonna be pretty damn fast paced)

Gon is the good boy. Always getting good grades. Always staying out of trouble. Handing in his homework on time every day since the 1st grade. Killua is the bad boy. Never hands in homework and is always the center of trouble. He got expelled from 3 other schools for various reasons. Then he got expelled for the last time into the school Gon is in. I do not own any Hunter x Hunter characters. I only own the plot.
