An 11x20 fix-it one-shot. "When we are aligned with love, the stars align with us." What if, instead of being star-crossed, Meredith Grey and Derek Shepherd's stars had actually been aligned?

Meredith Grey, a new and eager neurosurgery fellow, makes an unfortunate first encounter with her new boss/ teacher. Derek Shepherd, a world renowned neurosurgeon, attempts to woo his new student, no matter how wrong it may be. Both broken people, scared but eager to take a leap of faith into a new adventure.

Meredith Grey is a dark woman. What happens when Derek Shepherd and her cross paths, can he change the way she sees herself?

AU: Meredith and Derek meet on a cruise, Meredith is newly single and Derek is on the cruise with his girlfriend Rose.

On a quiet afternoon in early Summer, Patrick pondered what it would be like to see her again. He had spent the last seven years waking up next to Jillian but not a day went by when he didn't wonder. With each passing year being without her hurt a little less but on any given day he could still feel her if he allowed himself. He could smell her on his skin, hear her laugh. Working with her again could provide a setback that would be impossible to recover from. That was just considering his feelings. He couldn't imagine the kind of havoc this was going to wreak on his marriage. A knock at the door broke the silence of the house and the chaos of his thoughts. It was on this Summer afternoon in Maine that Patrick's life would be changed forever. Could a knock at the door send his life spinning down another path? Or would it simply right a wrong that had been done years ago?
