"Where did e-a-na go?" Kaci looked up at Damon with big brown doe eyes. Damon ' s heart klinched. Kaci had tears welled up in her eyes. "I don't know Kac. But we'll find her soon, I promise." Damon hugged Kaci gently and carried her through the boarding house doors and up to his bedroom. He laid her down and pulled the sheet up to her chin giving her a feather light kiss on the forehead.
