Alaina's father most unfortunately passed away in a accident while at work, during her second semester. After her mother informs Alaina of this at school, she makes the decision to move into a smaller house, for their dad had used a lot of the many rooms in their large house for ‘work purposes’. When Alaina’s mother asks her to go through her dad’s rooms to find anything that they may want to take into the new house, she discovers piles upon piles of beautiful artwork that she had never known about. Every room was littered with canvases, brushes and pencils. She comes to one painting that is only half finished, but clearly displays a lush, colourful, mystical world. Determined to finish the piece, she ask her mother if they can stay for a few more days, and gathers all the needed materials. Upon collecting her supplies, she spends her next few days completing the world that her father began, only to find that when it is completed, the piece is more than a painting – it becomes another world that she enters.
