-- English & German versions -- A heist gone wrong. A young ex-sniper lying in the dark of the subway, her leg trapped in the wreckage. A thing sniffing around, searching. Searching for the box. The box she has stolen... Get into the night! Into the museum with its artifacts! Into the subway where the world and the past come crashing down-and hope is just one clever thought away... Hi guys, we're back, this time again with something more experimental-a storyline that backtracks through its timeline. Kind of curious whether this works for you-at least, it was quite some fun to write! Especially when the story suddenly switches to Syria, and I have absolutely no idea how that happened... :-) There is a brilliant review by @TaintedBloodBooks, check it out here: https://taintedbloodbookscom.wordpress.com/2024/11/02/book-review-hexenbox/ And another review by bookishbeam on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/DB_vkM8TYHn/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== Happy reading!

When a predator targets a lonely young girl, eight strangers can either fight to stop him, or face the wrath of the spirit that tied their fates together. Is life a series of random events, or are we all connected by invisible threads of fate? Well, in the town of Gossamer Loom, the answer is complicated... and also pretty disturbing. Local legend speaks of the Weaver, a wild spirit that threads the lives of the townsfolk together. Once you pass through Gossamer Loom, your fate becomes a thread in her tapestry. Her "web." And when a lonely young girl meets a dangerous man at the edge of town, she and seven others are suddenly drawn into the Weaver's web, connected by nightmares and uncanny coincidences that pull them into each other's lives. As their bond grows, the Octagon is formed. Leslie, Josiah, Ivy, Coop, Willy, Jane, Eli, and Caroline will either accept their fates, or suffer the dire consequences of denying the Mother of the Spiders. Octagon has eight parts, called "threads," and there are eight chapters per thread (64 chapters total). Each chapter in Octagon has a corresponding "Formation Song." That is, each chapter has a corresponding song that I listened to for inspiration as I wrote it. The songs are listed at the top of each thread.

*****WATTYS 2015 WINNER!***** WATTPAD STAFF PICK (9/7/15) In the end, the robots win. But you already knew that. "Everyone Died + My iPhone Stopped Working" is a collection of short interviews with some of the survivors. People who have tremendous insight into the rise of Artificially Intelligent machines or, more often, don't. Why did the robots rise up? What did they want? Why couldn't they be stopped? Can they be stopped now? Is humanity doomed? And what the f--k is going on with the squirrels? You will get the answers to all of these questions. Or some of these questions. Or none of these questions. We'll see. I will be updating this once a week until I run out of stuff that I find funny. Then I'm done. Set in a utopian society, mankind has transcended the entrapments of the human body, we've seamlessly perfected genetic manipulation and technology so that our bodies no longer fail us, we age at a significantly reduced rate, resistant to any illness, we've become almost immortal. We are also heavily augmented with technology, and we are plugged into a vast network that spans the numerous planets that we've developed for the expanding population under the control of "The Authority", a council of elders who've endured millennia and govern the Net and the society. Our story follows Bastion, who's lived for about 100 years, but physically has only aged to about his 20s and is still considered in this society to be a "child", lives a seemingly normal life, he has a natural gift for manipulating genetics and is being trained at a facility to make this his life work exploring the limits of the human genome. One day Bastion makes a discovery, one that could destroy his society as he knows it, one that shows that even in a perfect world, evolution is the enemy.
